Chapter One

A/N: Hello babies! It's finally here! I hope y'all enjoy this short Christmas fic. It's based from the movie "A Holiday Engagement" and I got a little bit of inspiration from The Proposal.

Chapter One

She woke up to her alarm clock, her brows furrowed as she reached for her phone on her bedside table to stop the alarm. 8 o'clock. She groaned and rolled over to the other side, checking her phone for any messages. There was only a text from her best friend, Iza, reminding her about their lunch date later.

After replying to her text, she sent another text to her boyfriend. "Good morning, hunn."

A minute later, her phone buzzed. "Good morning."

"Are we still having dinner tonight?" She hit send.

A reply came right away. "Yes, see you at the resto at 7pm."

She smiled while typing, "See you. I love you."

She stared at her phone, waiting for a reply.

Seen.

She lay down, continued to wait.

But there was still no reply. She assumed he was already getting ready for work. Ten minutes later, she decided to get up and get ready for the day. She grabbed her journal from the bedside table to check her plan for the day. She has three things listed on her journal:

- Lunch with Iza

- Christmas shopping for the family

- Dinner with Dom <3

She made her way to the kitchen and prepared herself some oatmeal while listening to classic Christmas songs on Spotify.

She arrived at the restaurant at exactly 7 p.m., the receptionist led her to their table. Karylle took a seat as soon as the receptionist left. They were seated right in the middle of the restaurant. It's great that they've made a reservation 2 weeks before because the restaurant now is full since Christmas is coming.

She checked her phone and when there was no text from her boyfriend, she sent a quick text from him, letting him know that she had arrived. A minute later, he replied:

I'm on my way. Start ordering. I'll get the usual. - Dom

Karylle then called the waiter and ordered spaghetti bolognese for herself and steak for her boyfriend. She added a chardonnay to go with their meal.

Her eyes roamed around the restaurant, feeling the Christmas spirit because of the decorations, Christmas tree and Christmas songs playing. To her right, a family of four were enjoying their dinner. The woman which she presumed is the mom, wiped the tomato sauce from the little boy's mouth. She couldn't help but smile while watching them.

She can't wait to have a family of her own.

Her eyes turned to the main entrance and a smile formed on her lips as she saw the dashing man that walked inside the restaurant.

"Hey, handsome." She leaned close to get a peck on the lips but he tilted his head just in time and so she ended up kissing his cheek instead. She just let it go and watched him take a seat across from her.

"Sorry to keep you waiting." he apologized.

"That's alright, hun. Ang importante, nandito ka na."
