"Why do I even try?" I whined, staring at the ceiling.

A lesser demon stood before me, looking at me with sympathetic eyes. Or fear. There wasn't much of a difference in this case. Most were sympathetic because they were scared, which I understood. I could obliterate them with a snap of my fingers.

"You try talking to him...?"

I shot a glare at him.

"S-sir...? he finished shakily.

"Don't you think," my eyes turned black. I could feel them, "that I've tried that?" I growled.

The demon trembled in his spot. "Yy-yes, sir." he stuttered.

Another lone growl escaped my throat. "Get out of my sight before I end up putting you with the souls."

The scrawny thing cowarded away and out of the room.

I sighed and placed my head in my hand.

"You'll never get him with that attitude." Mikey sneered, coming around from behind my throne where I sat.

I scoffed and rolled my eyes. "How long have you been there listening?"

"Long enough."

"That is such a cliche answer."

"But it's true."

We paused our friendly family discussion for a being entering the room with us.

"You really must keep it cleaner down here." the being remarked, brushing off his white suit.

"Yeah, thanks Ray." I rolled my eyes, my cheek still resting on my hand.

"It's Raamiah. Do not defy me, you petty accident." he spat.

I just rolled my eyes at him again. So pretentious. It seemed like that's all I could do anyways. I couldn't do anything to him too harsh, or he'd attempt to eradicate me. Not that I would die again or anything, but it'd hurt like hell times ten. Even as the King of Hell and Damnation, I was still below the common angel. I guess power equals how close you are to the Big Guy.

"Anyways, I didn't come down here by choice." he snarled, looking at his surroundings in disgust.

"Well get to it then!" Mikey snarled.

"Mikey!" I snapped, glaring at him.

He glared at me. It was for his own good though. If he didn't control his temper, he'd be shot down to nothing but angel food.

"Yes, down boy." Raamiah chuckled.

Mikey hissed, and I shot him a look again to quiet him down.

"Get on with it, Raamiah." I said in a monotonous voice, waving my hand signalling him to go on.

"God's noticed you've taken a liking to one of his children." he smirked to himself as he straightened out his white tux coat. "And you need to let him be, or we'll blow every last one of you foul creatures out of existence." he grinned.

I just sat and stared at him through half open, unamused eyes, not flinching a muscle.

"If that's not getting to your head, you touch him, and we harm your dear brother here." he looked over at Mikey, whom bared his teeth and let a soft growl escape from his throat. "Ooh, menacing. Really, I'm trembling." Ray said sarcastically, flicking his eyebrows and grinning. He then turned back to me and spoke again. "Not that you'll be able to catch him any time soon."

I stood up baring my teeth, which sent off a signal for the other demons to get up and ready for an attack, but before I could even curse him out, he flashed out. His laughter echoed around the stone room. "Dammit." I growled between my teeth, falling back into my throne. "I'll show you. I'll win this one." I muttered. "I'll be the judge of who gets obliterated."
