And back at the beginning we were. I was sitting in my throne and Frankie was sobbing in the corner. Why couldn't he just be happy?
I tried thinking, but the angel's gut wrenching sobs were distracting me. "Please, Frankie..." I muttered.
He looked at me, almost with an insulted expression on his face. He opened his mouth to say something, but with a flick of my fingers, his jaw was snapped shut, and he didn't make a noise. The trick I used was 'GOHO GZE OFECVFA GOHON OL' which pretty much just meant "Speak only when spoken to" in Enochian, my original language. It was one that I basically had set as a default because I use it on almost all of the lower demons. Sadly, it's only temporary, therefore, I had a lot of smart asses still in my midst.
Frankie turned his back away from me, and his shoulders began to shake with silent sobs.
I could finally think in peace, and within a few minutes of that silence, I thought up a brilliant plan. I just needed to make sure it wasn't useless. "Mikey!" I called.
In a flash, literally of course, my brother was walking into the throne room.
"Gerard, this room is a mess." he flicked a finger up, putting a painting that I had subconsciously knocked down back on the wall. He pinched his fingers together, mending the rip that I had caused in the parliament. "How can you still be running Hell?" he wondered aloud. He flicked his finger up, flinging the crown from the ground to my chest.
I grunted as the headpiece hit me.
"Oh, hello, Frankie." Mikey smiled cheekily, but with no teeth.
Frankie breathed out harshly from his nose, obviously trying to whimper or speak, but he couldn't, so he just turned back around.
"So now he's quiet?" Mikey smirked.
I just looked at him, which wiped the smirk off of his face. "Oh...that." he rolled his eyes. He knew the spell well, speaking that I used it on him all the time when we were little and I had just realized the power and control that I had. "What do you want, Gerard?" Mikey asked, now significantly less enthusiastic than when he first came in. "Other than him." he continued, nodding his head towards Frankie.
I rolled my eyes. "I just need your advice-"
He scoffed, interrupting me. "No, Gerard. I am not your booth that you pay 10 cents for life advice. Screw off." He flashed out.
I let a long sigh. Oh well. Who needs advice? I'm the king of hell for Satan's sake! I thought to myself. I put the crown on the arm of my throne and stood up. "Be good, Frankie." I patted his head.
He cringed, bringing his shoulders up to his neck, and curling himself into a tighter ball.
I chuckled a bit. It actually felt good to be feared. Especially by an angel. I turned on my heel and pushed my hands out into the air in front of me, opening the doors. "Olivia!" I called, pinching my fingers together to close the doors behind me.
Hayley and Olivia flashed in front of me, Hayley holding onto Olivia's shoulders, steadying her from what I guessed to be her first flash-in.
"She's doing well, sir." Hayley reported.
I smiled and nodded approvingly. "That's good. I just need Olivia for a while." I said.
Hayley smiled and nodded, instantly flashing out of sight.
"Just a simple task, or it should be." I assured Olivia.
She nodded. "What ever you need, Ger- I mean sir. Shit..." she stuttered and cursed under her breath.
I chuckled. "You can call me Gerard most of the time. The others do it anyways."
She took a deep breath of relief, smiling slightly and nodding. "Thank you, Gerard, how may I be of service?"
"I'm sure you've heard about the angel in captivity, yes?"
She nodded.
"Well, he's right in there." I pointed to the doors behind me, "and I'm having trouble with talking to him. Now you, you have more of a soft and caring aura about you. Maybe you can talk to him for me?" I suggested.
"Okay, like set it up slightly like a middle school relationship." she said.
I didn't understand what that meant, but if that's how she understood it, then so be it. I nodded to her.
She giggled softly and nodded understandingly. "Okay, let's do this. Frankie, right?" she asked.
I nodded.
"Alright, let's go." she walked past me. I opened one of the doors and let her in. She turned around and looked at me. "Best if you stay out here, yeah?" she suggested.
I nodded. I waved my hand, taking the spell off of Frankie just as she closed the door.
"A minor helping you get laid...? Really Gerard?" Mikey muttered behind me. "That's a new low." he mumbled.
I didn't say anything. I just stared at him, telling him to shut it with my eyes.
He left without a word.
