{Chapter 14}

As Kyoko briskly sprinted home, she ran into somebody. That somebody was Kagami. They looked down at Kyoko. "Where are you off to in such a hurry?" They asked. Kyoko looked up at them, slightly scared. "I was on my way h-home..." She stuttered an answer. As soon as this happened, Kagami gained the ability to see all of the girl's futures. "Would you like me to assist you? I don't want you getting hurt." They offered, their one golden yellow eye seeming to stare into her soul.

Kyoko was about to decline but decided it was for the best. "I-If you want to. I won't force you to d-do anything." She reasoned. Kagami hummed a response, following Kyoko home. They walked in silence for the first few minutes, Kyoko often looked over to Kagami to make sure that they wouldn't try anything. "Say, w-what's your name?" Kyoko asked, realizing that she hadn't asked previously.

"I'm Kagami Sasaki." Kagami introduced, glancing over to Kyoko for a split second. She recognized the last name, but couldn't quite place where she had heard it before. "Oh. I'm Kyoko Todoroki-Bakugo..." She trailed off. They smiled slightly. "I see." They replied, continuing to walk in silence.

Once they reached Kyoko's house, she thanked Kagami. "I'm sorry for asking, but would it be alright if I could come inside? I promise that it's just for a few minutes." Kagami said, having a slight sense of hope in their tone. Kyoko was a little surprised. "Yeah, sure. Come on in." She said, opening the door to the Todoroki residence. 

Shoto, who had been sitting on the living room couch, turned to see why the door had opened. "Kyoko...?" He asked in disbelief. She smiled, running toward him. "Dad!" She exclaimed, wrapping her arms around his neck. Tears fell down Shoto's cheeks as he hugged back. "Thank god you're okay." He said, smiling. Kagami watched the happy reunion, smiling ever-so-slightly.

Once the two broke away, they stared into each other's eyes for a moment. It all seemed so surreal. Izuku walked down the stairs to see what had happened. "Kyoko?!" He exclaimed, his eyes widening. It took everything he had to not run over and hug her. Instead, he turned his attention to the doorway, where Kagami was standing. 

"Pardon me for interrupting this beautiful moment. Would you happen to be Izuku?" Kagami asked, raising an eyebrow. Izuku was slightly confused at first. He walked closer. "Yes, I am," Izuku answered, smiling slightly. Kagami felt a small sense of hope well up inside of him. "I'm Kagami Sasaki. You used to work under my father before he... well, died."

Izuku had flashbacks to his work-study with Nighteye. His eyes widened and his jaw dropped slightly. "He... he had a child?" He muttered, surprised. Kagami took in a deep breath. "I never got a chance to get to know my mother or my father, but I do know one thing. You were close to him. I do remember one thing, though. Someone had told me that you were my godparent..." They trailed off.

Izuku hugged Kagami, apologizing for their father's untimely demise. "If that's so, then we can't turn you down. Welcome to the family, Kagami." He said, smiling warmly. Tears welled up in Kagami's eyes. "R-Really?" They asked in disbelief. Shoto had overheard and smiled as well. "Of course." He replied.

It took everything Kagami had to not cry. "Thank you so much..." They muttered, smiling weakly. This would be a moment that nobody in that house would forget.
