The Rumor

The next day, Logan woke up to his alarm for school. After he had gotten dressed and went downstairs to get breakfast. Before he could get breakfast, he got a multitude of texts from both Cassidy and Jullian telling him to hurry to school.

When Logan got to school, there was a group of kids in the cafeteria. Tristan was in the middle of the crowd. Logan walked up to them all.

"What's going on guys?" he asked

They all looked at him wide eyed

"There's the wolf boy!" one of them shouted

'Yeah, he's a monster!" another one shouted

Logan panicked "What are you guys talking about?" he asked

"Why don't you come take a look?" Tristan asked "let him through everyone"

A path through the crowd parted, and walked to Tristan who was holding a photo.

"This photo was taken four nights ago" he said "why don't you come and take a look?"

Logan looked at the picture, the picture was of three wolves. Though it was taken from above, Logan could recognize those three wolves from anywhere. They were him and his parents in their cellar.

"I found these wolves in an underground cellar the other night after I heard some howling. I went there again yesterday but I didn't see any wolves. Just, you. Care to explain?"

"Yeah, those are my aunt's pet timber wolves, "said Logan "we were watching them last week"

"Prove it then" said Tristan "Bring them in to school tomorrow. If we see wolves, we'll drop this. If we see nothing, we'll know you and your family are werewolves"

"How will that prove anything, exactly?" askes Logan

"As everyone knows. Werewolves only transform during a full moon." said Tristan, proud for his knowledge

"Alright then" said Logan "I'll do you one better. One will be with me today after Track"

Logan left the group to see Cassidy and Jullian sitting together talking. Logan walks over to them, while he's on his way, Jullian notices him and stands up to go to him.

"I'm so sorry that happened, anything I can do?" he asked while wrapping his arms around him.

"I don't think so. I need to call my parents" said Logan before walking to stand against the wall and pulled his phone out of his pocket.

He called his mom, and together, they concocted a plan and Logan went back to Jullian and Cassidy and gave them both a hug before kissing Jullian's cheek and going to class. The day went through as normal, except for occasional social media alerts about a chance to see live timber wolves at the track field after school.

The school day ended and Logan stayed after school for the track meet, he was scared that he ether was gonna be found out or if his plan would work or not. When he was done at the track meet, he saw his aunt waiting on the bleachers. She waved to him and he brought some people to meet with her, she took them out to her van and had them all wait. She opened the trunk of the van and stepped aside before snapping her fingers in unison. When she did, three wolves jumped out of the van. One white, and two black. Logan recognized them as his mother, father, and his uncle through his father's family.

Tristan's picture showed two black wolves and one white one, and there in front of them all, were two black wolves and one white wolf.

"I guess that proves it then. Three wolves, exactly like the picture, and its bright daylight." someone said "Not werewolves, sorry Tristan. Guess you were wrong"
