The New Love

Cassidy woke up late the next morning, Cassidy looked at the clock on her phone and almost jumped. She had gotten a text from Jullian, asking to meet up at the town center. She accepted, and with Logan still asleep, she left him a note and she went to meet Jullian. When she got there, he was standing facing a three-tier, stone fountain. Though it was made of stone, it was covered in green moss and vines. The water had stopped flowing through it a long time ago, though there was still water sitting in the bottom pool that was kept clean by nearby store owners. Jullian was tossing coins into the fountain.

"Jullian?" Cassidy called out as she approached.

"You came?" replied Jullian as he turned to face her.

"To be honest, you're kinda scaring me," said Cassidy, concern audible in her voice "what's this about?"

"I wanted to talk to you," Jullian replied "It's about Logan" Cassidy was getting even more worried. Her heart was racing and she thought Jullian would be able to hear it if she got any closer, so she stopped where she was

"What about him?" asked Cassidy

"It's better if I show you," said Jullian, he reached into his pocket. And pulled out a small black box. The kind you normally hold the jewelry in. He opened it and it contained a watch "I saw a while ago that he was talking about wanting a watch like this. So, I bought him one. I actually bought it a while ago but didn't know how to give it to him" Jullian was staring at the watch with a smile across his face "I kinda wanna get it engraved, but, I think it might be too soon. I was hoping to ask your opinion?" Seeing and hearing this made Cassidy's worries subside and her heart rate began to slow back to its natural pace.

"Jullian, that's amazing. I know he'll love it. The best thing I can tell you, is to follow your heart." assured Cassidy

"I think my heart leads to Logan" replied Jullian. Cassidy walked up to him and gave him a hug.

"Well, I gotta get some donuts and head back to Logan's house, assuming you want me to keep this a secret that is?" she said

"Please do, I want to give him this watch when he least expects it," said Jullian "I'll let you take care of your stuff now."

Cassidy left Jullian at the fountain and went to the donut shop, bought a dozen, and went back to Logan's house. When she got there, Logan was still asleep on the couch. She set the donuts down in the kitchen and walked back to the couch to sit next to Logan as she pulled out her phone and called her mom. Logan woke up to the sound of Cassidy and her mom talking.

"Good morning," he said

"Morning," said to him "I gotta go, love you," she said to her mother before hanging up and putting her phone down. "I got donuts while you were sleeping," she said to Logan, who was still visibly tired.

"I know, I can smell them," said Logan getting up from the couch to get one. Logan walked to the kitchen counter to grab a donut. He wasn't hungry, but he's not the kind of person that wouldn't eat.

"Did you sleep well?" asked Cassidy

"Yeah, did you?" replied Logan between bites of his donut

"Yeah. What do you wanna do today? My mom said I can keep hanging out with you" said Cassidy.

Logan finished his donut and went to the cupboard to get two glasses.

"I haven't really thought about it. I did JUST wake up. Do you have anything in mind?" asked Logan as he set the glasses on the counter and went to the fridge
