Logan woke up and looked at his alarm clock, he had forgotten to set his alarm last night and now he was 2 hours late for school. He rushed to get dressed and grabbed his phone without even looking at it. He rushed down the stairs into the kitchen and was greeted by his parents who seemed to be cooking a large breakfast.

"Morning sweetpea. Did you sleep well?" asked his mom

"What?" asked Logan "I'm two hours late for school!" he said before grabbing a piece of toast from the counter and walking toward the door.

"School was called off" said his mom "So I turned off your alarm when I woke up this morning"

"Is that why you're not going to work and instead making a huge breakfast?" asked Logan

"Yeah" replied his mom "Also, isn't Hunter supposed to come over today?" she asked

"He was" he replied "I'll text him to double check it" Logan pulled out his phone as he walked over to sit on the couch

"He said he's still interested in coming over" Logan said "What time would be best?"

"Probably around six-thirty?" replied his mom

"Alright, I'll let him know" said Hunter before quickly typing out the text on his phone to Hunter.

"Breakfast is ready hun" said his mom

"Sweet, thanks" said Logan before getting up and walking over to the kitchen to eat with his mother.

There was a knock at the door around noon. Since nobody had planned to come over, both Logan and his mother were confused.

"Who could that be?" Logan asked

"I have no idea" replied his mother "but I'll find out" his mother stood up from her seat and walked over to the door and opening it.

"Alerick!" his mother said surprised

"Yes, I apologize for the surprise visit, but I must speak to Logan" said Alerick

"I'm right here sir" Logan said

"I would like to speak to him alone, if you don't mind ma'am" Alerick said to Logan's mother

"Certainly" said Logan's mother before bowing her head and raising it to show her yellow eyes and walking to the next room

"Please, have a seat" Logan said to Alerick

"Certainly" Alerick replied before taking a seat across from Logan

"So, what is this about?" Logan asked

"We, at the council, we know about your relationship with the humans" said Alerick

"What do you mean 'relationship'?" Logan asked getting nervous

"We know that your family has exposed our species to your friend" said Alerick, with respect rather than with disgust.

"Ok, what exactly was the full meaning of this meeting then?" Logan asked

"Well..." Alerick's phone buzzed. He took it out and read a quick message before having an evil smile on his face "I just needed to distract you. Your friend won't be around much longer for your little pack" Alerick said while getting up from his seat and walked to the door.

"What are you talking about!?" screamed Logan

"Next time, keep the secret just that, a secret!" Alerick said as some of his teeth sharpened almost instantly into fangs and opening the door.
