Denial

Logan woke up sweating and panting after what had just happened. After his nightmare, he wished it was the next day. He went to his phone, and saw that it was only 4 in the morning, he had school in three hours. He texted Jullian, trying to see if he was awake. The quest was fruitless, Jullian was fast asleep. Logan went to his kitchen to get something to eat, trying to get his mind off his nightmare. Instead, he was met by his mother preparing to leave for work.

"Hey sweetie" she said "what are you doing up so early?"

"I had a nightmare" he replied

"Let me guess. Jullian was a werewolf hunter and he shot you with a silver-tipped arrow" Logan's mother said

"How did you know!?" Logan asked astounded

"I could hear you talking in your sleep saying things like 'I thought you loved me' and 'How could you betray me like this'" said his mom

Logan gave out a slight chuckle "That'll do it I guess"

"There's some hot chocolate on the counter for you" said his mom "Whipped cream and mini-marshmallows"

"Thanks Mom" Logan said with a smile.

Logan went and got the cup of hot chocolate before walking into the living room to sit on the couch and watch tv. After only a few minutes, Logan finished his hot chocolate and set his mug on the coffee table before falling asleep while watching the tv.

Logan and Jullian were sitting together on a beach, having a picnic. As the sun went down, a child ran up to them,

"Dad, Dad, Look what I found!" the child said holding up a shell "What is it?"

"That's our boy. Always curious about things" said Logan before getting up and taking the boy down to the water line

"It's a shell. Some say, if you whisper it a wish and throw it back in the ocean, it'll keep your wish safe until its granted"

The kid took the shell in his hands, and held it close to his mouth as he whispered it a wish. Then, Logan took the kid's hand and helped him toss the shell back into the ocean before walking back to Jullian on the blanket in the sand.

"Why don't you tell your dad what you did bud?" asked Logan

"I went with dad and I told the shell a wish. Then we threw it back into the water" said the child with a smile

"Well, was this what you wished for!?" Jullian asked as he picked up the child and started to hug him while also tickling him...

Logan woke up to knocking on the door. He got up from the couch to go see who it was. It was Cassidy.

"What are you doing!? We gotta get to school!" she said

"Oh, right, sorry" said Logan "Come on in while I go get dressed" he said before running upstairs

He came back quietly only a few minutes later, grabbed his backpack off the floor and slipped on his shoes, all without alerting Cassidy of his presence who was sitting on the couch with her head down looking at her phone.

"Now I'm the one waiting on you" Logan said startling Cassidy, making her jump before he ran out the door.

"You're gonna pay for that!" yelled Cassidy as she ran after him
