"Seriously, Vic? Come on. You can't leave Xavier unattended to go get drunk." I rolled my eyes.

Truthfully, I wish I could say everything was going amazing between Vic and I but it's not. He's been drinking like crazy, and barely showing any interest in our son. I don't know why he's acting like this.

"Whatever." He slammed his door as he walked into his room.

I cradled Xavier and gave him some kisses. "I'm sorry baby. I promise, I'll never leave you if I know you're not safe." He replied with some gibberish, earning a soft laughter from me.

"Hey love!" Alice walked into the bus. "And hello my wittle nephew. You're just so perfect, yes you are." She gave him a kiss on the forehead.

"Alice, he's not a dog." We both laughed.

"Where's Vic?" She asked, scanning the room.

"In his room, probably getting more drunk." I said as I rocked Xavier.

"Seriously? What is wrong with him. Even the guys have noticed him being weird. He's been skipping practices and showing up late to shows. They even had to cancel one because he didn't show up at all." She explained.

"Really? It doesn't surprise me but every time he leaves he tells me he's going to practice or to a show.." I looked up at her.

We both stared at each other, trying to figure it out. We both shrug as Vic calls me into the room.

"Here we go." I rolled my eyes and handed Xavier to Alice. I walked into the room. "What's up-"

"We need to break up." He blurted out, almost immediately.

My whole world screeches to a halt.

"Wh-What?" I speak softly.

"Come on, Mel. This hasn't been working for a while." He replied.

"Bu-" I begin to say before he interrupts me.

"And I've been seeing someone else.."

Ouch. That one hurt.

I stand there in the doorway of his room, unable to move or speak.

Vic gestures toward the jacket I'm wearing.

It's his jacket he gave to me when we first started dating 3 years ago.

"I- uh. I'm gonna need that back." He speaks up, breaking the silence.

With no emotion, I slowly take off the jacket and hand it to him.

And without another word spoken, the door is slammed in my face. I'm so numb, I can't even move.

» a week later «

"Mel, I know it's only been a week but this weeping has got to stop." She emphasizes on the "got."

"We were together for 3 years, Alice! And we have a son together. It's not something I can necessarily forget about." I pause. "He just threw everything away.." I start to tear up.

"Exactly!" She raises her voice. "So forget him! It's time for a fresh start!"

"Bu-but. I don't want to start fresh." I pout, wiping away my tears. "I just want Vic back."

Alice stands up extremely quickly, staring at me in pure shock.

"Wait what? You want to get back together with him?"

"Of course I do!" I emphasized the "course."

"I love him so much." I continued.

"Even though he cheated on you?" Alice spoke up.
