Chapter Twelve

After two days of running we had finally got into Okalahoma. My fifty vampires from Texas were already here, so I asked where they were. From where we're it's about seventy-eight miles. I told everyone this. We came up with a plan. Each group would come in from a direction and block them in as best as we could. Hopefully they don't have to many people.

We told the others our plan and they positioned themselves around the town that they were in. I just hope this works and it's fast. It would take us about thirty minutes to get their. We had to feed and the wolves had to hunt. After continuous running, well almost, we need out energy built back up.

After twenty minutes, everyone was ready to go, until we got the message that Thane and Roseline along with about a hundred to a hundred and ten others got past them. No death's but some of our men were injured but it wasn't to bad. We ran fast to get there and help the others.

Thirty minutes later we got into a clearing they found. Everyone was tending to their wounds and some vampires were feeding off the non-injured wolves. I'm glad they don't have a problem with this.

"Alright everyone, I linked with my Alpha back home and he said take a break. If they know we aren't right behind them, we can get them cornered when they least except it," By told everyone. We all happily bunked out for the night. I was very pissed at myself though.

"Trevor?" I heard Tallis's voice from behind me. I turned to him. I found By, Jayce, Roman and Tallis all standing there.

"Yeah?" I asked looking at them.

"What's wrong man?" Roman questioned. I snorted.

"This whole deal is my fault. No one would be injured or have to leave home if it weren't for me. Plus Zel is so close to going into labor and you can't even be there. I took you away from her," I stated, sighing disgusted with myself.

"Man this is not your fault. You can't help what Thane and Roseline are doing. This is all on them. As for Zel, she told me I had better come or she would kick my ass all over the territory. Man you're our brother and we stick together," Roman stated with his hands on my shoulders.

"Yeah, but look at By. He is miserable being away from Cay and the kids. He should be at home, not here," I pointed out.

"You honestly think that Cay would let you go on a suicide mission? That girl cares a lot about you and wish she could be here to help you. Trust me," By smiled. I just looked at him.

"I still feel like crap and if anyone dies because of me, I'll hate myself forever," I mumbled then sighed running a hand down my face.

"Man, you think you don't have anything to worry about? Stella is pregnant. Yeah you may not be the biological father, but you'll be their father non the less," Tallis told me.

"That's right. Everyone is here because we have to protect our packs. Every wolf and vampire is at risk with these two on the loose. We have to get them," Jayce explained to me.

"Why would they go after other packs and vampires?" I pondered looking at him.

"Look around you man. We just made four new alliances. That's why they would attack others," Jayce pointed out. Well when it's put that way, I see the point.

"God I hate those two. They know to mess someone's life up," I muttered pissed.

"I know what you mean. But we will get them," Roman said. We walked back in our camp and sat down. Early in the morning we would head out. For now, we rest, eat and just plain relax. We had our patrols that would take turns. Others sat around talking and getting to know each other. I looked over to see Hector which surprised me big time.
