Chapter 8
I woke up with a splitting headache and felt as if I was going to throw up. I was lying down and my cheek was pressed to cold gritty floor. I rolled over and realised I couldn’t see anything. The cowards must have blind folded me.
But where was Alec? I’d heard him calling out before I collapsed. Where was I?
I stirred a little more and I heard light footsteps approaching. I couldn’t undo my blindfold because of the hard rope around my wrists, which burned me with any movement.
“Hello?” I yelled stupidly. Who say’s hello to her kidnappers?
More footsteps came, more quickly and louder this time. I heard low whispering, one was in a beautiful soft voice while the other was cold and harsh.
Suddenly I felt something buzzing in my pocket. My mobile! I must have left it in there! I fumbled around trying to grab it when it was yanked off me.
“HEY!” I yelled. “Give me it back” I said as harshly as I could.
All I got was silence. I struck out with my leg and hit something that felt like a solid brick wall.
“Holy s***!” I yelped in pain, recoiling my leg. Who ever I’d hit obviously worked out.
I felt the blind fold being taken off and my eyes adjusted in the light darkness. It must still have been night time because I couldn’t see my surroundings well. It looks like I was still in the warehouse and I could see a large group of dark figures standing close to me.
“It’s waking up” A hoarse voice bellowed loudly.
I felt so tired, like I couldn’t be bothered to stand up.
“Her name’s Jessica, Harrison. Stop being such an idiot” Alec’s voice made me spring up.
“Alec!” I yelped. I looked around frantically, trying to find him in the darkness but arms restrained me back.
“Hey, calm down, I’m right here. Don’t worry. The guys kind of over reacted and knocked you out” Alec knelt beside me in the darkness and I was instantly comforted by his soft voice. But who were these guys?
A bright light flickered on in front of me and I realised it was a torch. I blinked a few times before noticing five guys and also a girl, who was giving me an absolute death stare, surrounded me. She kind of reminded me of Georgia. Wait, back track. It was Georgia! What the hell?!!!
Alec untied my hands, while I took up a staring competition with Georgia. She was wearing all black, like the rest of them. Now that I focused more, it seemed they were all giving me the death stare. Nice greeting, knock me out and then glare.
One of the guys stepped forward. He had light brown hair and had green eyes that sparkled under the torches spot light. But to my dismay, his beautiful face had anger written all over it.
“Why’d you bring her here Alec? What have you done! You’ve endangered us all! What if they’ve followed her?” His voice rang out through the warehouse, making me cower in fear.
“They attacked her. At her home. They realised that I had a connection with her and took action” Alec’s voice was low and fierce, as he challenged the other guy. They stood with faces centimetres apart and I could almost see the lightning between them.
“Hey break it up” Another fair-haired boy walked forwards and pushed them apart roughly.
HE then turned to scrutinize me. “But Harrison’s got a point. Why do you have a connection with it? We warned you about getting to close to them. Does she even know what we are?”
