He wasn't a really jealous guy, it didn't sound manly to envy his own friend just because the girl he desires for pays more attention to his friend then himself
It first happened when Giyuu invited Y/N and Sabito to eat some cold soba with him before training. Of course, being the nice person the two are, they accepted. Although while eating you seem to be having fun talking to Giyuu leaving Sabito in the sidelines, at first he didn't seemed bothered and joined in the conversation.
The second time was when he felt rather neglected since he thought you we're keeping your distance away from him and spending more time with his good ol' friend
He had to admit, yes, he had took interest towards you ever since the two of you met plus both of you we're bestfriends so this sudden change of feeling confused him to no end. He didn't liked being jealous at all, it's just not like him, if he did get jealous at some points in life he only tells himself to be greater than whats making him jelly.
You had to know someday but he couldn't bring himself to tell you how much you mean to him. Paranoia just happen to fill his mind especially with a bunch of 'What if's.
One day, Sabito just finished training alone and went to Mr. Urokodakis residence to eat, it just so happened that you and Giyuu finished eating together and chattering in an extra room. After Sabito ate his meal, he slid the door lightly and he heard you squeal.
"Do you really think so?"
"Yeah, it's really beautiful"
"Thank you!"
That's when he slid the door closed again, he decided to walk and take some fresh air. Giyuu complimenting you didn't sounded right to him, I mean, how could he refer to you as it
"Sabito-San!"
Sabito stopped in his tracks and turned around to where the sound was and he saw Y/N ranning towards him.
"What are you-"
"Here! have this!"
She shove him slightly, opening her hand to reveal a pieace of earring. "I saw an earrings hook the other day with Giyuu just by the shore and I added in a few jewels here and there. I wanted to give to you! Do you like it"You explained.
He took the earring and observed it carefully, it was just a simple one piece of silver earing with had a small almost-looking sword dangling from it Sabito smiled and thanked Y/N
"It's great, Y/N-san" "So you like it?"
He patted your head like a cat and nodded at you still smiling. Sabito out the earring onto his left ear and said "So this was what Giyuu was complimenting earlier, I thought there was something going on between the two of you" He muttered the the last part but you still heard it
"What? Of course not! He just helped me with making it, thats all"You reassured which brought you into an idea that he was jealous
"Say Sabito.. were you.. jealous about me and Giyuu?" You asked hesitatingly. He looked at you surprised and sweatdropped "Well.. I uh.. kinda was, you we're distancing yourself away from me, so I thought you liked Giyuu more than me."He explained discreetly.
"No, don't think that, I love you both equally but.."You stopped, "but what?" You shrugged him off, sel felt a bit self-conscious about telling him how you feel. But there's nothing wrong with being bold!
"Sabito, once we become Hashiras.. do you think we can be more than friends?" You asked. He gave you a look and it seemed to last forever
But in the end he gave you an reassuring smile that says everything. Just give him the attention he needs in the future..
