Zane's pov:

Two days later, it was time to head back home. Everyone was exhausted from the adrenaline of the beach and catching up with friends.

Throughout our small trip, I enjoyed my time with Kawaii-chan. There were certain things that I never noticed about her. The way she almost purrs when laughing, or how she has a gummy smile. Simple things like that. I'm glad I'm starting to get to know her better.

She's becoming a close friend to me. I'm always comfortable when telling her personal things or having a normal conversation.

We're now back at our house (she's been living here a while now so I might as well call it that). Kawaii-chan is currently making breakfast. We arrived last night so that's why.

And I'm over here sitting on the couch thinking about her. What's gotten into me lately? Back in high school I hated her since I thought she was weird and annoying. Before she lived here I only thought of her as Aph's friend.

But now I'm having second thoughts.

"Hey, Zane-kun, you wanna go shopping after breakfast?" There she goes, calling me that name again. "Yeah sure," I reply.

Now that I think about it, is Kawaii-chan actually her real name? What if that's just a pseudonym? But then again, why would she hide her real name? If that really isn't her real name, I'm sure her actual one is beautiful.

I go over to the kitchen and eat the pastries she's prepared. They're warm and delicious, her cooking always is.

"Thanks for the breakfast," I say. "No problem! It's the least I can do for you letting me stay here." I nod. "You live here too, don't feel like your the maid." She smiles. "Hehe, okay!"

We eventually arrive at the mall after leaving. Inside we visit a couple stores and shops. We also get lunch at one of the small fast food places.

While our time together, I learned a few things about her. Or should I say, more things. It feels good to know her. Understanding her preferences is good for future reference.

Now we're currently at a park and it's dark outside. Inside my car we're eating the food we ordered. "Thank you Zane-kun for today!" She says. I turn my head from eating to look at her.

"No need to thank me," I say. "We're friends aren't we?"

Her eyes sparkle at my words. She then nods her head furiously. "Of course!"

 Nows my chance to ask.

 "Hey, uh Kawaii-chan, I have a question."

 "Ask away!" She responds.

 "Is Kawaii-chan your real name?"

She stops chewing on a cookie and looks at me.

 Cute.

"Urr, no, actually," she starts. "Kawaii-chan is a name I came up with to make myself feel special. Most of my siblings were the same and I wanted to be different so I came up with that name."

"Oh well, the name is cute and all, but if you don't mind, I'd love to know your real name. I'm sure it's beautiful."

She blushes at my words. "I-it's N-n-nana," she says in small stuttery voice. "I'm sorry, what was that?" I ask her. I really wasn't able to understand her.

"It's Nana!" She says much louder this time. I can clearly see her blush now.

I give her a warm smile. I'm not sure if she catches it though with my mask being on. "That's beautiful," I tell her.

I can feel my cheeks slightly warm as well.

Next thing I know is her giving a kiss to my forehead.
