Chapter 8

THOMAS POV:

"I don't need one" I said. Minho signed. "Look Thomas, I know you miss Newt but use your brain shuck face. You are going to kill a griever that took Newt from you" said Minho. "And took my ability to hear" I said angrily. "Thomas listen to me. I know Newt is gone and you miss him but can't you hope that for even a second Newt might still be alive? Ben was assumed dead but WCKD sent him back up. I'm not going to stop you from going into that maze but all I ask is think before you do something recklace" said Minho. I signed and left. I entered the maze and bark followed me. I had to wait till night. Once night came I started looking for the griever. I told bark to stay by the doors. He was a little confused but got over it. I started my search for the griever. The carvings were still here. I found one that said I'm still alive Tommy <3. I smiled at this. I wish Newt was alive. I found the griever. It stood there as if waiting to fight me.

I really wish I grabbed a weapon or something before I left. I started running and the griever followed. How am I suppose to kill this thing? I had the griever squished between two walls. I smiled and turn back to my work. The griever was dead. I'm sure Newt can now rest in peace. I was hit on the back of the head and passed out. I was on a bed with a gas mask on my face and bark laying by my lap. The mask was removed and I opened my eyes. I was tired as I laid there. Newt walked up to me and placed his hand on my cheek. "Hey Tommy" said Newt. "Newt" I said. I hugged him and cried. It felt like it was real and I was hugging Newt. I never want to wake up from this dream. Newt broke the hug but still held me. He laid me down and sat on the bed. "I only have a few minutes Tommy. WCKD said it's your choice. They can do the surgery to fix your ears but you will have to leave the maze" said Newt. "I can't" I said. "What, I though you would" said Newt confused.

I shook my head no. "I would of at first but I was only scared that you would hate me. Now I don't care that I can't hear. I know you love me anyway and besides, I already forgot what everything sounds like" I said. "Okay, I'll see you in the scorch Tommy" said Newt. He kissed my lips. I closed my eyes and we held each other. The kiss was perfect. I never wanted it to end. Newt broke the kiss. "Now get some sleep Tommy" said Newt. "I love you" I said. "I love you two" said Newt. Newt and I snuggled till we fell asleep. I woke up in the hospital. Bark was sleeping by my bed. Was it all a dream? I still can't hear. I remember the kiss Newt and I had. It felt so real and made me miss him even more. Minho came in. "Finally awake shuck face. The shuck happened? We found sleeping with the griever" said Minho. "I killed it and was knocked out by something but I had a dream about Newt. He said he will see me in the scorch" I said. "Ya, WCKD just sent up the box with nothing but a note and some shucking books" said Minho.
