Chapter 5

THOMAS POV:

It has been a hour. I finally left the forest and saw the box was still open. I could go down there. Newt might be waiting for me. No, I can't. I noticed a beetle blade. "I'm sorry Newt, but I have to get the others out of the maze first" I said. Plus I made that deal with Minho. I finally decided to ask everyone about the new dog. "Well WCKD said they are doing a cross over or something with Too Cute. What ever that is so they sent a female dog and hope that her and Bark will have puppies" said Harriet. I was a little surprised. Puppies are kinda cute and Bark could be a father. I waited by the doors with Ben and a few others. "So, does Minho still use too much hair gel" asked Ben. I snickered a little. "Ya, he still trys to make it perfect" I said. Ben laughed a little. "Well, he was known for his hair product" said Ben. I laughed a little. The runners came and stopped when they saw Ben. "Hi" said Ben. Minho and everyone else ran up to Ben.

They all hugged him. A few of the runners kissed Ben which I thought was too far. They aren't dating and Ben is straight. I think. However he might have eyes for the girl who came up. The girl runners were confused on who Ben is and why the boys were so happy to see him. After the hugging and catching up was over we explained how Ben was stung and banished so we thought he died. "Wait, so Newt might still be alive" said a runner. "NO" I yelled. Everyone turned to look at me shocked. I started to cry a little. "Newt died. He's gone and never coming back. Just because Ben survived doesn't mean anything. I mean do you remember anything from before the maze? IS THIS ALL JUST SOME STUPID TV SHOW? I GUESS IT DOESN'T MATTER SIMCE NEWT IS GONE AND NEVER COMING BACK" I yelled. "Thomas calm down. I understand you miss Newt and don't want to get your hopes up but Newt was carried off by a griever. We searched everywhere. Newt's remains weren't found. He could still be alive" said Minho. I crossed my arms.

"Or maybe he is in a different section of the maze" I said. "Newt is alive. I don't remember much from outside th ed maze but I remember my family. Anyway when I woke up in the box I remember Newt told me to tell you that he is alive and something about white rain when you go down in the box" said Ben. I froze and then blushed. "What the shuck is white rain" asked a boy. I tried to process everything. Newt and I never told anyone but when we started dating we talked about leaving the maze one day. I promised Newt we would and he said the by that time we might be able to make white rain. Meaning lots of sex. Newt is gone though. I signed and stopped blushing. "Well Newt and I did talk about making white rain when we leave the maze but I can't because he is gone" I said. "Well, if the grievers wanted to kill Newt why didn't they do it right away" asked a girl. I frowned and said nothing. I started leaving the doors. I want to lay down. My head is starting to hurt again. Which I did smack it pretty hard that night. Or maybe I have too much on my mind and miss Newt.
