My legs tire and ache,
As I run from the shadows.
In it's presence the ground shakes,
Forget all your troubles and sorrows.
Sadness and tears keep it strong,
I've ran miles just to get away.
For in this darkness I don't belong,
I remain brave every single day.
I have seen if swallow good souls,
But, I don't lose my mind.
My mind is mine to control,
It won't corrupt, hope is there to find.
It may be chasing you down,
If it eats you, you won't be the same.
Just breath, run, and toss out your frown,
It's your happiness, not the darkness's to claim.
