My eyes blinked open slowly, squinting in an attempt to adjust to the bright white walls that surrounded me. I glanced down, seeing that I lay in a white bed, my leg wrapped carefully in a bandage for my wound.
I furrowed my eyebrows together in confusion as I sat up carefully, looking around the large room I was isolated in with panic. I had no idea where I was, or any recollection of how I got here. The last thing I remembered before I passed out was.. Bellamy.
"What the hell.." I trailed off, pushing myself towards the edge of the bed, letting my feet touch the cold ground. I took a deep breath, standing up on my right leg successfully until I tried to walk, feeling a sharp pain in my left leg making me retract it immediately.
My eyes wandered around the room, seeing a door a few feet ahead. I braced myself, walking forward, only applying little pressure to my wounded leg before using my right to push me forward-- limping towards the door.
I looked out the small round window it had, seeing another empty room across from mine. I banged on my door repeatedly with balled up fists, calling out to anyone who may have been around, "Hey!" I yelled, knocking on the hard door, "Let me out!"
I was startled when a man suddenly stepped in view, causing me to stop my movements. He was old, and tall, with short hair colored snow white. He wore a gray suit with a tan tie, his arms behind his back as he held a small smile.
The door began to open, and although a part of me was afraid I refused to let it show. I tried to back away, but it didn't go so well when I felt another sharp pain in my left leg, wincing in the slightest but not taking my eyes off of the man before me.
Behind him stood two more men, as if bodyguards of some sort, along with a woman wearing a long white coat-- a nurse I assumed. I glanced between the four of them nervously before the woman began to speak, "Hello, Claudia. How's your leg?"
I merely glanced at the stranger, not saying a word.
She shook it off with a smile, glancing over to the old man, "Not much of a talker, is she?"
"A skill picked up from the savages no doubt." He referred to the grounders, only confusing me more on how he knew anything about me. He stuck his hand out with a smile, offering a handshake before introducing himself, "Dante Wallace."
I glanced down at his hand, refusing to shake it as he chuckled, "That's right, you're a stubborn one. A fighter, correct?" He rose his eyebrows.
"Who told you that?" I finally spoke, glancing between him and the woman, "Where the hell am I and how do you know my name?"
He continued to laugh, pulling his hand away, "Full of questions aren't we? No worries, I'll be happy to answer them all." He placed his hands behind his back once again, "Your people told me. They also told me you were one of their leaders."
I shook my head, "Where are they? Take me to them." I demanded.
He cracked a smile, "In due time, Ms. Hensley. But first, now that you've finally awoken, we thought it'd be vital for you to know of your medical condition."
I knitted my eyebrows together in confusion, "Finally awoken? How long was I asleep?" I asked.
"A few days." He answered making my eyes go wide, "Please, have a seat. We have some news to inform you of." He gestured over to a nearby chair that I was grateful for, considering I didn't know if I had the strength to limp all the way to my bed.
I did as he said, taking a seat in the white chair close to us. "What's going on? What's my medical condition?" My eyes wandered over the four adults that stood before me.
