The sun was just above the horizon. As Raven was woken by her mother Astrid, Astrid said, "Wake up" she shook Raven gently, "Time for dragon training." "Right" said Raven, as she hopped up from her bed. She grabbed her training gear and switch axe. She hopped out the front door and saw Derreck on his way to training. "
Hey" she said calmly "What dragon are we training with today?" She said before he could say anything. "Um" he responded "I think the gronckle, but I am not sure" Astrid replied "You are never sure about anything." She chimed in.
Mulet and Goarleg joined in their conversation as they walked to the academy.
Dragon training had started off with Gobber, who is quite old to still be training us as he trained all of their parents, giving us a lecture on what not to do in a raid. It went a little like this, do not leave a spot if you are told to stay there, do not fire weapons that you are not familiar with, do not engage dragons you are not trained to engage, and do not get in other people's way. That is about it, he added at the end.
The rest of dragon training went like normal although they got out earlier than expected. Lots of axe throwing, fire, destruction, and little success. Although Raven thought she had done the best today and was improving. Unlike her peers she quite enjoyed dragon training. They thought it was useless because killing a dragon to them seemed simple, but for Raven she wanted to kill with ease, grace, and speed.
For the rest of the day she planned to go to Meade hall and eat and maybe throw a few axes in the woods. But little did she know that the day would hold more than just a day in the village.
As Raven headed to the Meade hall with the rest of her peers she practiced switching her axe in and out. Even though Goarleg was positive she was doing it wrong but when he tried to show her he cut himself.
When they stepped in to Meade hall they noticed Snotlout, he was doing a dumb dance trying to teach it to all the Congress members. Astrid had left as soon as she walked in. She said to Raven "I'd skip the lunch today."
"It can't be that bad" she said as she opened the doors"oh yeah I will skip." She walked back to their house and went up to her room. She started sketching out what she imagined her dad would look like. She felt that her mother knew who it was but would not tell her the only thing she knew was the he was killed by a night fury.
People would say that after that she changed forever. First she was in teen rage mode, then she was in shock, then she just accepted it. But people say she used to smile all the time when he was around, now she never smiles at all.
She finished up her sketch about an hour and a half later that's when she realized her mom had just opened the door. She rushed to hide her drawing but it was too late. Astrid grabbed the paper when Raven was trying to hide it. "What's this" she said, " well I-I I've been learning to draw, learning to draw people." She said knowing her mom knew she already drew objects and dragons. " Well can I see?" " No this one is bad I can show you a better one" Astrid replied " I'm sure to me it'll look just fine." She then grabbed the paper up from Ravens hand and looked at it her eyes widened her hand loosened and a single tear began to drip from her eye. "Wh- who is this?" She asked trying to stay of a neutral emotion. " It's just a person I made up" Raven said telling halve of the truth. " What's wrong?" Raven asked. "Well this drawing reminds me of someone very close to me who died." "Oh who?" "I guess I should tell you that this looks wildly close to what your father looked like. Your father is Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III."

"What!?!" Raven practically yelled out. " Please calm down" Astrid said trying to stop her from freaking out to much." What didn't you tell me earlier!" Raven exclaimed, "I thought it would be for the best." " The best! Why did I have to live my life without knowing half of it." "Please just understand," Astrid said responding to all of it. " No" Raven said as she stormed out of her room and the house. She ran across the way and behind Derrecks house and out into the woods. She ran until she went numb and kept running, eventually she came across a large crevass about 8 feet deep and maybe 30 feet across with a pond in the middle. She ran around it and eventually found a little path down she went down it and walked to the edge of the pond. She hopped over a log to get to the edge but as her foot came down she felt something below her foot. She turned around and looked down, their she saw three silver scales. She bent down to pick them up, they where as hard as her chestplate. She picked them up and walked out of the little crevasse, she walked back to the village and to her house. She grabbed the book of dragons and headed up stairs, she put the scales and the book of dragons on her desk. She opened the book of dragons and went threw every page except for the last page which contained the most mysterious dragons, she knew the name of one the night fury, but forgot the other. She turned to the last page and read through the description of the night fury, she was a hundred percent sure the scales did not belong to the night fury, but before she could read the next page she had to light a candle as it was dark out. She read the next page it read: Silver Fury, the dragon has scales as hard and rough as armor, spiked tail. Shot limit: 8. Info This dragon is as powerful as the night fury but blends in at night and day. This is the offspring of lightning and death itself. Unknown speed, blah ,blah, blah. No one has ever survived an encounter with this dragon. Do not approach! She figured this dragon was the most likely to be the owner of the scales. As she finished reading this page she heard the horn blow and a yell, RAID!
