The next morning, Tobias and his dad made their way to the Hub. The Hub is a market, town square, and park in one. There they saw many young eevees playing in the grass, a row of pokemon with goods to trade, a shallow pond with gleaming turquoise water, and a giant sycamore tree where picnics are often had under its shade. Tobias spots his friends among the eevees.

"Why don't you go play while I run some errands?" his dad proposed.

"Okay! See you in a while!" said Tobias before he ran off to join his friends.

After several rounds of tag, something caught Tobias's eye. Someone. He stopped and looked at her.

"Tag!" Rachel shouted gleefully, but Tobias had no reaction. He walked over to the shiny eevee girl. "Hello." He greeted.

"Oh, h-hi." She turned to face him.

"I heard you're new around here. My name's Tobias, and I a- was the only shiny eevee."

"Oh s-sorry, I didn't mean to steal your title. I'm Teresa." she said nervously.

"Oh don't worry, I'm glad you're here! I always thought I was alone."

"M-me too." She said. She felt incredibly awkward.

"Cool. You wanna come play with my friends and me?" Teresa's face lit up.

"Sure!" she chirped.

"Great, you're it!" He tagged her and ran off, back toward his friends. They barely got through one round when a shiny glaceon came over to the park.

"Teresa! What did I tell you about playing in the dirt? Come on, we're going home."

"Coming mom." Teresa said glumly.

"Bye Teresa, see you around!" Tobias called after her.

-

"Ugh, mom you embarrassed me." Teresa walked with her mother. I was starting to fit in. In the past, Teresa had always has some kind of friends, but never really fit in. Her mom made sure of that.

"You should be embarrassed, you were acting like a wild animal. You're a shiny, you should start acting like it."

"Why are you so pretentious"

"I am not pretentious, dear. It is simply a fact that shiny pokemon are better. You were given a gift, don't take it for granted."

Teresa steamed. Why did I say that out loud? Why is my mom so judgmental? The pair were silent the rest of the way to their den.

It's a bit short and overdue but it hope you like it. It took me a long time to decide how they meet. This book is ranked #1 in Shiny and has nearly 200 reads. I can't believe it! Hopefully a longer chapter tomorrow.
