"Shit!" Agad akong napa-upo. I roamed my eyes.

It's my Mom and Harvina.

"You're awake," my mom said and sat at the near chair beside me.

"I heard what you do, Harvey," mom started. "I don't lik-"

"I did what I think is right, Mom. I just can't afford to see my sister be beaten up by those ugly ducklings," I said and crossed my arms.

"Can you just let me finish my sentence, Harvey?" Mataray na sabi ni Mama. "I don't like the truth that you didn't break their bones. You could have just break their bones instead of breaking bottles of whatever wine those were to their heads."

Harvina rolled her eyes upong hearing those words, "Mom! You're tolerating, Harvey!"

"Oh dear, served them very right. How dare them scratch your face and pull your hair!" Galit na sabi ni Mom.

I let out a chuckle. A triumphant smirked crept on my lips.

"True, Mom," sang-ayon ko kay Mom.

"They filed their charges upon you but don't you worry, we have the best lawyer," ngiti sa akin ni Mommy.

"Anyway, gotta go na girls. I still have my meeting," sabi ni Mommy.

"You know Dagger?" Tanong ko sa kanya. Pinaningkitan ako nito ng mata.

"Yes. We're classmates. Don't come near him.

But I'm not backing out of that challenge. Alam kong kaya ko. There must be an exception for everything and I believe, on this matter, I am an exception.

"I didn't have one to ran for an help, nakita ko siya at siya nalang ang tinawag ko. Why are you asking? Kilala mo ba? Crush mo?" Pinaulanan ako nito ng tanong.

Tinaasan niya ako ng kilay, "For all men out there, Harvey, why him? He's transphobic mygod!"

Napa-irap ako sa kanya. Why the fuck she's concluding that fast? Pagba-tinanong lang, that means crush agad? Hindi ba p'wedeng for the challenge purposes lang?

"Of course not! He's not my type," I said. "Pero teka lang, why are you there? As far as I could remember, you're not a party girl."

Tumitig ito sa akin. Her eyes became unsteady. It's a inkling that she's hiding something to me. She sighed, "Nothing."

"Spill it, Harvina," I said and skimmed her face. She's staring at me deeply.

"I broke up with, Jason," she confessed. "I found out that he has an affair. It was one of those two ugly ducklings.
