Kori's POV
You know, I had heard about this ghost in Yamato, but I never believed it.Well, I think I was open to believing it, but just didn't care.
Tonight would change that.
Work was finishing up. Yuki-one of my best friends-works at the same place that I do. It was pretty late at night, around 11:00 PM. We had been cleaning.
He had green eyes and white hair. He's a pretty boy, too.
"Hey Kori?" Yuki asked.
"Yeah?" I asked, finishing wiping down the counter as I placed the sponge in the sink.
"I'm gonna go home without you. My Dad wanted me to come home as soon as I finished work today." Yuki said. I nodded in response. His Dad, Saturo, is pretty strict, and doesn't treat his son well at all, if you ask me.
Saturo has white hair and red eyes. Yuki's Mother, Yuri, has brown hair and green eyes.
As for me, I have brown hair and purple eyes.
"Okay. See ya tomorrow." I said. Yuki walked out of the workplace, but then he walked back inside.
"Did you forget something again?" I asked. Yuki shook his head.
"No. I just wanted to tell you to beware Yamato's ghost. She's out tonight." He said. I knew he was trying to scare me, so I narrowed my eyes and crossed my arms.
"Okay, sure. I'll look out for her." I said as I leaned over the counter.
"I'm serious, Kori."
"Shouldn't you be heading home now?" I asked. Yuki facepalmed and ran out of the restaurant. I chuckled and shook my head as I watched him walk out.
After that, I finished doing what I had to do.
After I finished with that, I looked around the place and made sure everything was locked up for the night, and finding that everything was fine, I walked out of the restaurant and locked up the door behind me.
I began walking home, looking up at the starry night sky.
"Neon would like this. Wait...why am I talking about Neon?" I muttered, shaking my head, yet not fighting the urge to smile. She's another friend of mine.
The more I walked, I noticed someone walking on the street some feet in front of me. I stopped walking, taking the sight in. The figure looked female. What was a girl doing in the street at this time of night?
Looking closer, I noticed something was off about her.
Her hair was messy, her clothes looked a bit ruffled, and she didn't look familiar. For some reason, she looked.....off.
I got strange vibes from her, but this was the block where my house was, but on a different street. I decided to walk on the other side of the road, but that didn't stop me from taking quick glances at her from time to time.
I had that persistent feeling of being watched. Standing still now, I slowly turned my head to my side, only to see her staring at me.
Her face was......how do I even describe it?
Her face was all bloody with deep, deep horizontal gashes across her face. Her hair was black, messy, and down. She wore a long, white sleeved shirt and pink jeans.
I looked down at her feet.
Barefoot.
That was when I realized it. This had to be the ghost of Yamato. Whenever I heard a story about her, the person who was listening would always ask what she looked like, and the person would describe her looking like this ghost in front of me.
