I took my hat off and threw it right in the costumer's face.
Yuki was right next to me too, so he saw that.
"NO! NOT HERE!" I yelled as I leapt over the counter and ran out of the restaurant.
WITH YUKI
Yuki watched his best friend run out of the restaurant in confusion and shook his head, wondering what just happened. He looked at the costumer that Kori had thrown his hat at, finding no reason why Kori would react the way he did.
He walked out from behind the counter, picked Kori's hat up, put it on the counter, and walked back behind it. He then walked to the cash register that Kori had abandoned and stood behind it, basically taking his place.
"I'm so sorry about that. I don't know what happened." Yuki said, inspecting the person's face. This person looked ordinary, which made Yuki wonder what made Kori so scared even more.
"Anyway, do you still want your order?" Yuki asked.
"Yes I would. Maybe your friend was stressed out." The costumer suggested.
"I guess so. So I have french fries, a cheeseburger, a medium sized drink, and a sundae. Is that all?" Yuki asked.
The costumer nodded.
"Yes, that's all and right." The costumer said.
Yuki nodded, and he and the costumer exchanged money. Yuki put the costumer's money in the cash register and gave the costumer some money out of the cash register while handing him the receipt.
Oh, the costumer's food was also an order for there.
When the food was ready, Yuki delivered it to the costumer and was soon back behind the counter.
He took all the orders for the rest of the night.
*************
When the shift was over with, Yuki had stayed behind checking on everything. He had cleaned the counters and made sure all the money in the cash register was right. He and some other employees cleaned down the tables and left.
Yuki walked out as the manager walked out behind them, making sure to lock the doors and walking away when it was done.
As for Yuki, he stayed behind and pulled his phone out. He pulled up his text messages and clicked on Kori's contacts.
Yuki: Hey man, are you OK? What was that all about? You know, what happened at the cash register.
Yuki started walking home, but he got a message from Kori. He stopped walking on the sidewalk to answer it.
Kori: No, not really.
Yuki raised a brow. He had to help him now.
Yuki: Can I help?
Kori: No one can, but thanks anyway.
Yuki raised a brow in confusion. Surely he could help out one way or another.
Yuki: Why can't anyone help you out? What's so important that it has to be done on your own?
Kori: Ghost problems. I have ghost problems.
Yuki just looked up from his phone and looked straight ahead.
"What the....? Why would a ghost cause him this much trouble? I guess I'll just end the conversation here. It's obvious he doesn't wanna tell me about it." He mutters.
Yuki: So that's why? Tell her to poof off. Yes, poof.
With that "said", Yuki put his phone in his pocket and continued his walk home.
EARLIER-BACK TO KORI'S POV
I ran out of the restaurant and ran all the way home. I ran up to my room, took my work clothes off, and exchanged them for normal clothes."Why'd that have to happen, Clarissa!?" I said, turning to the ghost who was just sitting in the corner.
"I told you what would happen if you resisted me." She said.
"For the last time, I'm NOT resisting you! I just can't help you out much on school and work days!" I said as I flopped down on my bed.
A few hours later, I got a text from Yuki.
Yuki: Hey man, are you OK? What was that all about? You know, what happened at the cash register.
I sighed. I guess I should tell him the truth.
Me: No, not really.
Yuki: Can I help?
I knew he couldn't help even if he tried, so I told him that, too.
Me: No one can, but thanks anyway.
That was true. Since Clarissa was only visible to me, no one could really help out.
Yuki: Why can't anyone help you out? What's so important that it has to be done on your own?
I sighed. You wanna know, do you, Yuki?
Me: Ghost problems. I have ghost problems.
After a few more seconds, Yuki responded.
Yuki: So that's why? Tell her to poof off. Yes, poof.
After that, I got no more messages from Yuki. I put my phone back in my pocket.
"Hey Clarissa, Yuki wants you to poof off. And he means poof." I said.
Clarissa got up from her corner and walked over to me. She was soon looming over my bedside.
"He's adorable, isn't he?"
"To Kira, yes."
"What would your friends do if I tried to haunt them?" Clarissa asked. She better not! I sat up in my bed and looked at her.
"Yuki, I don't know. He'd probably be scared. Neon might be annoyed by you but would try to help you as soon as she can. As for Kira, she'd try to help you but would be very angry." I said.
"Kira sounds like a piece of work to work with."
"Trust me, if you were human she'd punch you so hard you'd fly into the wall."
Clarissa started to laugh.
"It's true." I said.
"Oh."
An awkward silence followed.
"I'm gonna go to sleep now." I told Clarissa. I wasn't even gonna change my clothes for the night.
"Dressed like that?"
"Who are you, my Mother?"
"When you put it that way, no. Good night, Kori."
"Good night, Clarissa."
Clarissa disappeared and I turned the light off in my room.
But what I didn't know was that my dream would help me out with my problem.
