It was now around ten PM. Akane and I were sitting on the couch watching TV and eating our sweets.

And yes, we were drinking soda.

Akane was currently drinking a sprite and I was drinking a coke.

All the lights in the house were off. Mom was asleep.

The only light was the bright light of the TV illuminating the room and a little stove light that was on behind us in the kitchen.

We were watching a Disney movie of Akane's suggestion.

It was Hercules. I had watched it before and liked it.

Akane finished her soda and placed it on the coffee table.

When that was finished with, we started watching a movie of my suggestion. Frozen.

Halfway through the movie, Akane had fallen asleep and had her head on my shoulder, leaving just me watching it.

I took a sip from my soda and ate half of a Hershey's bar.

I'll admit that I was getting tired, but I had to stay awake.

But I didn't realize when I had fallen asleep.
***************
The next time I opened my eyes, I was in that familiar white void. My Dad stood in front of me.

"Oh man, don't tell me I slept in!" I said.

My Dad ran right over to me and grabbed my shoulders.

"You're not sleeping in at all, son! Wake up now so you have enough time to find that baby!" He said.

As soon as he said that, I woke up. I started to stand up, but in a way that wouldn't disturb Akane. I gently placed her head on the cushion I had been sitting on.

Once I did that, I turned around to check the time on the microwave.

It said 12:25 AM.

Dad was right. I had enough time.

I went upstairs to my room and put a jacket on. I stayed in my pj's and went downstairs.

I mean, I'll be asleep once I get home, so why bother changing clothes?

I put socks and my sneakers on. I went back downstairs and checked to see if Akane was asleep.

When I noticed she was, I walked to the door, twisted the doorknob, and went outside, closing the door behind me.

And knowing I had enough time, I was finally able to walk through the streets of Yamato.
Akane's POV
When I woke up, Hercules was over and Kori was gone.

I sat up on the couch and looked around. I noticed my empty sprite can on the coffee table and picked it up. I threw it into the recycling bin.

I walked up to Kori's room.

He wasn't there.

Was he outside?

If he was, I went up to my room and put on a jacket, and then I zipped it up. I put socks on and walked downstairs.

I walked into the utility room and put my shoes on, and then I walked to the front door of the house.

He was serious about this ghost girl. I opened the front door of the house and stuck my head out.

"Here I come, Kori!" I said.

I went outside and closed the door behind me.
BACK TO KORI'S POV
I had made my way to the woods and was walking inside.
