Tuesday evening, 7:28 p.m. at Hoseok's house
____

"Hey, wake up," a soft voice woke me while slightly shaking me. My eyes flickered open slowly.

"What?" I choked out. The bright lights made me blink more, as I tried to get used to my surroundings. I couldn't tell where I was, but then it hit me, Hoseok's house.

"Let's go eat. My mom made food and you'll feel better after that," he spoke gently to me. I nodded, then he led me downstairs to the dining area.

"Hello Y/n, it's nice of you to join us," Mrs. Jung smiled at me and nodded towards a chair. Hoseok came up behind me, leading me to a seat.

"Ah, thank you for the meal. I hope I'm not too much of a burden," I spoke shamefully. I tried to cover up the fact that I had just broke down on Hoseok's shoulder with a good attitude.

"You're no burden at all. I'm happy Hoseok finally brought a girl home," she glanced at her son, "he never seems to do that. Plus it's a really well mannered girl—"

"Mom, it's not like that." Hoseok cleared his throat, reaching for his water on the table, "We're just friends, nothing more."

"Oh! What a shame. I was hoping you'd start looking for a girl. I'm sorry Y/n for assuming such things," she apologeticly mumbled. The tip of her ears got red just like Hoseok's do when he's embarrassed.

"It's fine." I looked down at my lap to hide my blush. I didn't why I was blushing. Maybe it was because I did have some sort of feelings for the boy on my right. I felt a gentle touch on my thigh and noticed Hoseok's hand. I clasped his hand in mine.

"Mom, when is dad going to get here? I thought he didn't have a busy schedule today," Hoseok asked while still holding onto my hand.

"He texted me fifteen minutes ago that he left the studio. Apparently Suzy stopped in unexpectedly," the woman replied, "I'm going to get the food."

She walked out of the room, leaving us alone. I twisted my body in the chair to face Hoseok. Just looking at him made me feel guilty and embarrassed about everything I've done to him and crying in front of him.

"So how you doing?" He spoke softly as if I could break any second.

"I'm okay. It was a lot to take in," I glanced down at our still intertwined hands. He gave them a little squeeze, causing me to look back up.

"I know. I was depressed for a few days after I read mine but trust me, you get over it when you realize he's happy now," Hoseok tried to reassure me. It was helping but not as much as I hoped it would.

"Did- did you read," I looked back up at him as I started to fidget a little more, "read- ahem- mine?"

"Well, if I'm being honest, I took a glance. I didn't want to read the whole thing without you, but your brother said I should. I wanted to respect your privacy though," he told me. I smiled at that. He wanted to be a gentleman and respect my privacy, how cute. I won't lie when I say that was a nice gesture.

"Oh thank you."

"Yeah, do you- um- do you maybe wanna read my letter? I know he said you could," Hoseok tried really hard to keep me from going off the edge by talking carefully. It's not like I'm going to break because of his voice.

"Maybe another time, huh? I don't know if I'm mentally prepared for that," I sighed. I could tell he was going to say something else, but we heard footsteps coming our way.

"Ah! Hoseok, my boy!" A man, I'm assuming his father, walked in and sat down in a chair across from Hoseok, next to Hoseok's mother.

"Hey dad. How's work?" The son made small talk with his dad.

"It's fine. Suzy needs you to call her though," he said. His eyes traveled over to me, "And who might this be? A girlfriend?" His dad wiggles his eyebrows.

"Dad, no," Hoseok groaned into the palm of his free hand. I could only giggle.

"Hi Mr. Jung, I'm Y/n. It's very nice to meet you," I unhooked our hands under the table to fling my right one across the table for a hand shake. Hoseok's dad took my hand.

"Nice to meet you too," he let go of my hand, "So are you and Hoseokie dating?"

"No!" We both yelled at the same time before looking at each other and breaking out in laughter.

"So then why were you two holding hands when I walked in," the man smirked. That's where Hoseok got his smile from, his dad.

"Just for comfort dad, it's been a busy day," Hoseok covered for me, because I couldn't really think of a good reason quickly. Was it just for comfort though?

"Ah, I see." Just then his mom walked back in with a large dish. She bent down and gave her husband a peck before passing out plates.

"Tteokbokki is good as always love," Mr. Jung complimented the meal, once everyone started eating.

Hoseok and I rushed through our meal. We were both done after a few minutes, and Hoseok's mom was scolding us. She said how we needed to take our time and eat so we can be much healthier while Mr. Jung just sat there and laughed. After agreeing to at least sit with them through our dessert, they let us go.

"Mom, dad, I'm gonna take Y/n upstairs so we can study. There's a small quiz tomorrow in Math, an you both know I need to study," Hoseok told them. They understood and let us excuse ourselves from the table. I quickly grabbed my dishes and followed Hoseok to the kitchen, where we put them in the sink.

"Let's go," he grabbed my hand, wasting no time. I felt butterflies in my stomach when his hand met mine and thank god he wasn't turned around to se me blushing.

"Hoseok, I have questions," I said once he closed the door behind us. We both took a seat next to each other on his bed.

"I guess I can have answers," he shrugged, "however, they may not be what you really want."

"I just need to know. Answer the best you can please. What did Moonie mean by you having a crush on me? Is that true?" I could barely meet his eyes as I spoke quietly. An awkward silence last for a few seconds.

He cleared his throat, "Ahem- yes, I mean- yeah I really like you. I have for about," he stopped and hummed to think, "three years now. You've always really caught my eye."

"Really?" I slowly looked up, a little shocked if I was going to be honest. I didn't understand how he always had to pick on me.

"Yeah." It was a soft reply of confirmation.

"So then why would you always mess with me or pick on me, if you liked me?" I was still confused which made him laugh.

"Because you were cute. Always fighting back with little comebacks, that's what mad you adorable to me. Plus you're smart, nice, talented, you can basically do anything, and I've always liked you for that," he took my hand in his, "I was a dick. I'm sorry for that." His voice was sincere. You could tell he was mad at himself because of his actions.

"I guess I forgive you but don't think this means I'm going to date you or something." I stated with a stern expression. He laughed and nodded, saying how I was reasonable.

"I just want to ask you one question," I nodded for him to continue what he was going to say, "did you ever like me?"

My breath was caught in my throat. Of course I liked him at one point, but he lost my trust after lying to me. However, knowing why he lied, made me feel a little better with the situation. He did it to protect me. It was cute in its own way. Did I still like him though? That was tougher to answer. I did, but I was scared.

"Y/n?" He waved his hand in front of my face. I blinked, zoning back into the conversation. I didn't realize I blacked out for a second.

"Yes, the answer is yes," I finally said and shocked myself. A huge smile broke out on his face as he engulfed me in a hug, too tight for me to breathe.

Once we let go, he asked, "Then can I kiss you?"
