Pokemon: The Misadventures in Unova

Chapter 30

《Farewell》

- "Cheers !" (Prof. Juniper)

- "Cheers.. !" (Everyone else)

Everyone celebrated. Their result was amazing, they won the contest, by a close margin. Nancy, the rising star got second place even—

- "And to commemorate for our new friend Meloetta, let's all eat till we're full !" (Prof. Juniper)

- "Hey ! Try not to go overboard, my wallet has a limit— !" (Frost)

- "If that's the case. I'll pay, afterall, I have to give my thanks." (Elesa)

She took the lead... politely even, they can't win against that..

- "Well.. if you say so.." (Roxie)

They began ordering light but tasty meals. Pokemon food for Kirlia and Meloetta and some macarons on the side.

- "Master ! This macaron tastes like oran berry dipped in chocolate !" (Kirlia)

She began to announce every flavor to Frost, making him smile helplessly.

- "Oh yeah, try this Kirlia. . No wait, not tha–" (Frost)

He offered a bite, he was eating two spice curry. A curry with two spices... leveling from mild yet sweet spice to Spiciest of Spicy.

Kirlia suffered from a burn–

Her mouth practically went up ablaze.. well, not really. But Frost imagined it so.

- "That's why I pointed this side..." (Frost)

He handed over the berry juice Kirlia ordered..

- "Uuu.. my tongue is burnt.." (Kirlia)

Now she's gloomy.

- "Here, try it this time.." (Kirlia)

She was in a gloomy state, but eventually gave in, by slowly openinv her mouth.. and closing her eyes, to eat the inevitabl– oh, her eyes lit up.

- "Yuuum~ What is this ?!" (Kirlia)

- "It's curry, sweet and spicy. But more sweet than spicy.. that's why I have the spicy one next to it.. the one you ate.." (Frost)

- "Ah... so that's why it's a different color... ugh, it was horribly spicy, that one.." (Kirlia)

The others just looked at their interaction and chuckled, like a father and a daughter one would describe it so..

One such trainer finally saw it that way.

{After the party}

Frost and the gang went out on a walk. At the walk, they had to answer nature's call to put it simply.

Frost was the first one to finish his business, and there he found Elesa waiting all alone for everyone..

- "I'm back. Bathrooms are weird- on every region it has a different theme.. Heh, couldn't find how to access the sink and it was motion controled !" (Frost)

He decided to play a little joke, to lighten up the mood.

- "You really care for your Kirlia." (Elesa)

- "Huh.. ? Well, that should be obvious. It's my pokemon." (Frost)

- "While that is true, there are people who use those words in a different meaning." (Elesa)

She must mean Team Plasma. Or.. any trainer that doesn't understand how to 'care' in both meanings regarding a Pokemon.

- "Well, I get that... there's nothing I can do about it. All I can do is.. hope they get the right meaning.." (Frost)

- "You're strange.. any other person would say. ' I'd try to make them understand ' , or, 'I have to right their wrongs'. . But you rely on hope. . " (Elesa)

- "Well, luck is my all-time benefactor. It's saved me many times.." (Frost)

- "Well, lucky you I get to chase another thing besides a pokemon. ." (Elesa)

- "Huh ? Chase wha–" (Frost)

- "Alright ! We'll call it a day and rest now. Let's go to the pokemon center~ " (Prof. Juniper)

The professor stated, while carrying a tired Kirlia and Roxie smiling helplessly at her tiredness.

Meanwhile, Meloetta comes flying by, landing on Frost's shoulder, sittimg down and enjoying the ride.

Leaving what Elesa stated as a mystery. . .

{The following day. . .}

- "So, I shall leave to my Gym duties. I wish you safe travels Professor, Frost, Kirlia and Roxie" (Elesa)

Elesa, going incognito as Liza headed off, to the roller coasters...
This girl really loves her roller coaster.

- "I'll have to go to Nurse Joy to buy a few things for the lab, so I'll leave you two~ Oh and Frost, a tip for you. Hugh is at Driftveil city. Take care now !" (Prof. Juniper)

The professor waved goodbye to them, and went back towards the pokemon center.. and then there were two..

- "Well, I myself will have to stay behind. . Afterall, the whole point of the journey was for this journey. The concert will start in 2 days from now." (Roxie)

Ah.. that's right. Elesa's concert was tne whole point of the journey. And Frost almost had to basically be apart and plan most of it–

Almost at least-

Thanks to our previous contest, he freed himself of that work. .

- "Right.. Well, I guess this is it then." (Frost)

With no other option, Frost has to continue his old job.

- "I thought so.. But.. but hey ! It's fine, we have each other's number on the Xtransceiver ! So.. that's cool." (Roxie)

She's really pointing out a some things.. with several hidden meanings. But Frost understands.

- "Yeah, we can talk often. Give me a call whenever and I'll answer the best as I can–" (Frost)

And then the two fell to an awkward silence..

- "Then.. take this, it's uhm.. a memento for safekeeping !" (Roxie)

At the end, she peacefully (forcefully) handed over a small badge with purple peculiar designs... is this.. ?

- "Isn't this your Gym Badge.. ? I haven't exactly beated you though.." (Frost)

Like any other person, Frost was confused by her action, why give out a gym badge to a person who's not even a Pokemon Trainer.. ?

Unfortunately she doesn't get to answer.. her face is slightly pink.. probably tired of his usual dense behavior..

So she just turns away and says.

- "Take care, Frost.. Keep that with you.." (Roxie)

- "Ah.. then Farewell, Roxie. I'll treasure it." (Frost)

And the two trainers. Who met by a coincidence, forged a good companionship parted ways..

But, each gaining something.. Frost gaining a badge.. technically his first gym badge ever.. but Roxie, earned much more.
