Tommy looked up as you came back into the private room. He'd sent you out for the third time in an hour to talk to the station master. Despite Polly insisting that he should delay his meeting because of a snowstorm he ignored her.

He dragged you all the way out to the middle of nowhere and no you were trapped.

"We're snowed in..." You said to him as you took a seat. He looked up from a folder of paperwork and sipped his drink.

"Did they say when they thought we'd be on a train back?" He asked, without looking over at you.

"No."

"Why not?"

"Because I asked the twenty minutes ago and they said that until the snow storm stops they're not sure if any trains can get through. The storm has gotten worse. I doubt they could give me an answer." You explained. There was a tired, irritated tone to your voice as you spoke. That had him looking over at you.

"Will you go and ask?"

"No." You said firmly, sighing when he raised his eyebrows. A huge gust of wind dragged snow against the window and he nodded, deciding you were right and finally giving in, accepting that you both might have to stay put for the night or at least until he could arrange for a way back home. He cleared his throat and held out a small parcel wrapped in brown paper.

"What's this?" You asked and he rolled his eyes a little.

"Polly was throwing you a surprise party this evening and I bought this for you. It is your birthday after all." He looked apologetic as you took the gift from him. Now you realised why he was so insistent that you needed to get home.
