"Nothing but respect to your elders" 

They say as our world burns 

"They did what they had to do"

They chant as we go up in flames 

"The economy was crashing, we had to save it"

Because money is more important than human life 

"How would we live without plastic?"

They question as our oceans are being choked 

"We've heard it before, and the world didn't end" 

They lecture, as our oxygen leaves our lungs 

"The scientists know nothing"

They promise as they get rich off our death 

"Global warming is a myth"

They console from their air conditioned suite

"We won't be here much longer anyway, let the next generation figure it out"

They whisper to each other as the human race dies out
