Punishment

Hey y'all! Short chapter today as it is the final one! It has been an amazing adventure with this book as I hope you guys enjoyed as much as I did. Epilogue coming next week then a final author note to clear things up. Hope you enjoy!

A crowd filled the area under the platform. NightWings, RainWings and some IceWings were there as well. It wasn't an ordinary ceremony. No, it was a trail.

Soon after Glory and Deathbringer returned to the forest, Glory set to work on Freeze's trial and punishment. She couldn't just kill him, that was cruel, and locking him up seemed like nothing. So she thought of the next best thing.

After deciding the punishment, Glory sent a letter to Queen Glacier, addressing the situation and summoning her to the rainforest. The IceWing Queen did as asked and even approved the punishment. Now, it was the trial day.

Glory looked upon her subjects, ready to speak. Giving a nod to Deathbringer, he nodded back before roaring loudly, gaining every dragon's attention.

"You are here today to witness the trial of Freeze the IceWing. For those of you who don't know, he is the one who lead Deathbringer's kidnapping. It is time for him to be punished. He has already been found guilty. Now for the punishment."

Glory sent a nod to her bodyguard once more and he let out a bird whistle, calling them to bring the prisoner forward.

Freeze appeared, shackled and held by NightWings. Several hidden RainWings had dart guns trained on him as well.

Queen Glacier looked upon her subject with distaste. "Freeze, I, Queen Glacier of the IceWings, hereby banish you from the IceWing tribe and give Queen Glory full rights to your punishment. Your life is now in her talons."

Instead of reacting, Freeze just gazed at the surrounding crowd with ice in his eyes. Glory was quick to follow up, "I, Queen Glory of the RainWings and NightWings, condemn you for life on the NightWing Island. It's heat will cause excruciating pain for you, not enough to kill, but enough to bring you to your knees. Guards, take him away!"

Freeze barely struggled, only fearing what the sweltering got island would do to him. It was that moment, that every dragon present realized how dangerous Queen Glory was. Quickly, Glory wrapped it up and called, "Dismissed!"

Glory then said her farewells and thanks to Queen Glacier, before flying to her Suntime platform. She settled down, watching as the sun slowly fell behind the horizon. Deathbringer sidled up to her, wrapping a wing around her.

Both let out relieved sighs. They were home. They were safe. And most of all, they were together.
