"Izuku," I called the green haired boy, "can I study with you tonight again, please?"

"Sure, but don't you know everything for the exams?" he asked.

"I--" I smiled awkwardly.

"Y/n may look smart but she's actually really stupid," Shad popped out of no where.

"Shad, come on," Bakugo stomped over, "or are you not studying with me and spikey, dumb ass?"

"First of all, Bakuhoe, fuck you," Shad glared at the blonde, "second, I was checking up on my sister. So fuck you, prince of assholeness."

"Fuck you," Bakugo growled.

"I'm glad you two are having a very intelligent conversation, but if you're finished..." I gestured to getting through the door.

"Right," Kirishima pulled Bakugo and Shad out of the way so myself and Izuku could pass, "enjoy your evening."

"Don't stay out too late!" Shad shouted after me.

"Likewise," I called back as myself and Izuku left school.

The next few days were self studying for our end of term exams until eventually today was the exam.

"That written exam was hell," I complained as I walked with Izuku to the changing rooms to get changed for the physical exam.

"It wasn't that bad," Izuku replied with a smile, "it was surprisingly easy."

"Easy?" I repeated, "no way in hell was that easy! I just hope my physical exam score can back me up."

"You'll have done OK," Izuku smiled, "after all, we did study every night. I'm sure you did perfectly fine."

"You saw me with those problems, I wasn't getting them," I sighed. He just smiled.

"Don't be silly. Anyway, see you later," he waved as we went into our changing rooms.

"Y/n!" Uraraka came jumping over, "did you hear the rumours about this exam being against the robots?"

"Um... Robots?" I asked confused.

"From the entrance exam? Did you not do it?" she asked.

"That makes three of us," Momo stepped into my line of sight, "though I don't remember seeing you at the recommendation exam."

"Four, Shad too," I corrected, "though I still don't understand."

"How...did you get into UA if you didn't take either of the exams?" Tsu asked.

"Well... We placed our hands on some weird ass orb, it made the decision I guess," I shrugged awkwardly, "it was...exhausting?"

All the girls looked at me weirdly, I side stepped around Uraraka and walked to my locker before changing into my hero costume.

"You know, y/n?" Mina started talking to me as we walked to the place we were having our physical exam, "your costume makes me think of the army. You know, camouflage."

"I did get some inspiration from that," I nodded, "but also I just really couldn't be bothered to design anything super flashy like you guys. I had like five minutes to design it in so I didn't really get enough time to do something flashy."

"Same with Shad then, huh?" she asked, I nodded.

"Wait --" I squinted as we approached the meeting point, "Why're all the teachers over there?"

"Beats me," Mina shrugged, "let's get over there and find out."

All of class 1-A stood in a group in the central plaza.

If it really is robots, I'm failing. Miserably. Damn it... I'm seriously failing these exams.

Everyone was in their hero suits and everyone looked super confident in what was going to go down today, except myself, I'm going to fail this because my quirk doesn't work against non living things. Damn.

However, that all changed when a ton of teachers came out, intimidating and ready to beat up someone.

"Now then, let's begin the last test," Aizawa announced, "remember, it's possible to fail this final if you want to go to camp...don't make any stupid mistakes."

"Why're all the teachers here?" Jiro asked.

"I expect some of you have gathered information and have an idea of what this physical exam will be," Aizawa started.

"We're fighting those big old robots!" Kaminari exclaimed loudly.

"Fireworks, s'mores, late nights, here we come!" Mina cheered along just as loud, Aizawa's scarf came to life and out popped the principle.

"But, students, this years test will be completely different from the previous for various reasons!" Nezu announced. I think we all noticed.

But it was still amusing to watch some of that confidence deflate. Now if we're fighting the teachers then thank goodness, I might actually have a chance.

Wait a second... When did my priorities change from staying hidden to worrying about passing my exams like some normal kid?

"The tests now have a new focus. There will be hero work, of course, but also teamwork and combat against actual people. So what does that mean for you? You, students, will be working in pairs, and your opponents will be one of our esteemed UA teachers, isn't that fabulous?" he continued, his usual cheerful attitude to everything evident, "but the teachers will be wearing weights to hold them down, they were designed by a fellow first year, Mei Hatsume. So you have a bit of an advantage."

Everyone stared at them in disbelief.

No way.

I seriously have a high chance to pass!

"Additionally, your partners and opponents have already been chosen," Aizawa explained, "they were determined by discretion, based on various factors, including fighting style, grades and interpersonal relationships."

"First Yaoyorozu and Todoroki are a team against me," Aizawa started listing, "then we have, Midoriya paired with Bakugo, and their opponent is..."

All Might came flying down and dropped onto the ground.

"I am here...to fight," he announced as he pointed to Izuku and Bakugo. Bakugo and Izuku started freaking out in front of him, probably for worst, "You're going to have to work together, boys...if you want to win."

After that, the teachers one by one announced who we'll be going up against and who our partners will be.

8. Hagakure + Shoji vs Snipe
9. Sero + Mineta vs Midnight
10. Midoriya + Bakugo vs All Might
11. L/n siblings vs Shadows

"Looks like we're together," Shad elbowed me lightly in the side.

"Yeah and against Shadows of all people," I laughed, "we have to beat him so we can tell Mrs Ambié and tease him."

"Hell yeah!" Shad grinned.

"Alright, you all know the order that you'll be fighting in," Aizawa said, "you can either watch the fights in the observation room or you can create a strategy together and wait it out."
