"Buahaha!!! AHHHH hahahah!! Girl, whatever! I don't believe you!" Ravyn is leaning back against her head board crying her eyes out with laughter. It is the wee hours of the morning. I had let myself in her house to talk about the incident after she got off work. I didn't want to go home alone.

"Ravyn! Don't laugh!!" I whined, standing over her bead looking down at her with the most pathetic eyes I could muster "I promise its true, that's exactly how it happened"

"Let me get this straight, you mean to tell me some super fine Jamaican...."

"He wasn't Jamaican." I interrupted "He just had locs, no accent"

"...whatever.... some super fine.... non-Jamaican guy with locs.... almost made you bust a nut, outside, in the open, AND you almost got eaten by the boogeyman?!" she screeched in between fits of laughter.

"It is NOT funny!" I was getting frustrated with her. At this point she is laughing so hard, she is holding her stomach, and no sound was coming out. I'm on the verge of tears; not because she didn't believe me or her laughing, but I was truly afraid of the shadowy figure, and I was super embarrassed about my close orgasmic call with some random strange man. I sat on the bed, leaned back and put my head in her lap. Her roaring laughter calmed down to short chuckles. She began to massage my temples as she always did when I would lay my lap in her head.

"Ok, you're serious about this I see." She said looking down into my eyes with her own wide dark brown eyes.

Ravyn and I had only been friends for a few short years, and in those years our friendship had grown immensely, very quickly. Ravyn is not a typical girl, which made our friendship atypical too. Ravyn was a free spirit, she was not tied down to societal standards and normalcy; which was something I had to get used to in the beginning. Ravyn is much more fluid with her sexuality and her body, she did not equate nudity, skin to skin contact, or even kissing with sex, it was a separate category. Sex was sex, and everything else was neutral territory.

We met at a hookah lounge on the pier. During the daytime, it is a great spot to just relax and unwind. I would often go and sit, read, write, or just daydream looking at the beach. Ravyn had been working there for years. Since she worked nights, we never crossed paths, because I would frequent the establishment during the day hours. It was on an off chance that she picked up a daytime shift and that I was there off in my own world, looking out the window trying to decide if I should go for a dip or not. When she approached me, I could see her out of my peripheral, and at first, I didn't think she was coming my way. She is day, I'm night. She had fiery red tight natural curly hair, that was cut short on top, and faded short in the back, with a moon and shooting star shape cut into it. She is athletic, tall, and talked fast and loud. She is very light skinned, and her skin is smooth, like almond butter. When she had walked over to me she had a smile as wide as all outside. She had fire red lipstick on to match her hair, but no other makeup. Her short denim skirt showed off her muscular athletic legs, and her black tank top showed her slender arms covered in top half a sleeve of tattoos on both arms. She is stunning, and her temperament matched her hair. She commanded the rooms attention where ever she went. I on the other hand like to observe and not be seen. I mostly wore dark colored clothes, but still like to show skin, especially since I had been going to kick boxing class. My body is finally becoming more athletic. I'm tall as well, but probably two inches taller than Ravyn, and my body is a bit thicker, wider hips and broader shoulders. My medium length, dark brown, natural hair is usually pulled back in a ponytail and covered with a scarf or hat. My skin is mocha with a tinge of red undertone. I'm meek and shy and shun attention. That day she approached me, I kept my head forward as I knew she was not headed my way. She set a hookah down next to me, I turned around in my chair to face her, looked up at her and she loudly said. 'Smoke with me, because your about to be my best friend.' From then on out, we were inseparable.
