"Where does your Aunt live again?" I questioned. We had been driving all night, and now waking up from my slumber I saw the sun was just rising over the horizon; we were still driving, and we were on some type of back road with wooded tree lines all around us.
"Calm down girl, were almost there." She said as she kept her eyes focused forward to drive "Maybe 45 minutes left at most."
I nestled back in my seat and thought about allowing myself to drift back to sleep, but my mind continued to dwell on Luscious locs. His frigid touch made my entire body shiver, but at the same time my spot heat up with a craving for him to be inside me. I shook my head.
Why can't I get him out of my head?! I yelled in my own head.
Ravyn decided our out of town trip will be to her Aunt's house upstate, further away from the ocean. I was a bit disappointed about that part. I love to be in, by, near, or around water always. It keeps me calm. The sound of the ocean waves always soothes my inner being. The recent stresses that I have been dealing with however, has been taking a toll, and thank goodness for Ravyn to recognize it and get me away for a while.
Both of my parents were killed in a car accident when I was a teenager. At the time I was 16. I had no other family, and no one came to claim me. So, my last two years before adulthood was spent as a ward of the state in foster care. Luckily, I had a nice family take me in. An older couple Geraldine and Toby, all their children were adults and out of the house. I think they were just looking for company, which I gave them. When I turned 18 I quickly moved out. My foster family was good to me, but I was ready to be on my own. I got a small part time job and enrolled myself into a community college. I wasn't sure what path I was on and what life had in store for me, but I felt I couldn't just stand still waiting for it to happen to me. I slowly started dating, but I felt I was left somewhat behind because I was the only college student that was a virgin. I was awkward, and most guys expected girls to know what they were doing, and I didn't. So as time kept slipping by my virginity stayed with me. Now at 27, I'm still a virgin. I finished school, receiving a BA in psychology and was now working with other foster kids, helping to place them in good homes. But the job can be very taxing at times, seeing some kid's situations could be absolutely heart wrenching. Recently, for a short time, I was dating a guy named Muhammad. He was a good guy, sweet, caring, understanding, but was putting an enormous amount of pressure on me to marry so that we can consummate our marriage. I told him we didn't have to wait until marriage, but he was a devout Muslim and wanted to do things right. Then one day when I turned his proposal down yet again, he balled is fist up and punched me. My eye was swollen for two weeks. It was around that same time Ravyn came into my life. She suggested I start taking kick-boxing classes for self-defense. But when it came time to defend myself, I tensed up and continued to be Muhammad's punching bag. He would tell me that it was good for me and it would prepare me for how our marriage would be. One day Ravyn told me she was sick of it and said she would handle it herself. I begged her not to as I didn't want her to get hurt. But one day when I showed up at Muhammad's and my apartment, he was packing his things to leave. He had a terrified look on his face and was moving around anxiously and nervously. When I approached him, he jumped back and started sputtering about how sorry he was, and that he was leaving and never wanted to see me again. At one point he looked past me like he was looking at something, but when I turned around nothing was there. He brushed past me, walked out of our front door, and I never saw him again. At first, I was upset with Ravyn, I didn't want him to leave, just to not hit on me, and to be patient. I never approached her about it, as I didn't want to ruin the last standing relationship I had with someone else. So now I was alone again, depressed from seeing the horrific things humans can do to children, and still a virgin.
