Sophie's POV
I fought the pain to sit up and shuffled my way out of the silky sheets. Everyone tried to stop me, especially Elwin.
"Sophie stop! You're not fully healed yet!" He yelled after me.
"I don't care!" I yelled back and walked, more like ran, off the pain. When I got to Biana's room it looked like she was under a sedative because of her calm expression. I sat down on her bed and reached for her temples.
I pushed myself into her mind beaching for that cold darkness, but it never came. Instead of cracks lacing her mind in a pitch black cloud it was a pale purple color, almost white even. It was a sort of small orb of this color but if you looked out it was the shattering effect on the deep black horizon. Nothing was broken inside. In the distance there was a girl wandering around trying to peer outside.
Her long brown her swayed whined her as her heels clacked against the pale glass floor. I took a step forward and my boots made a small whine against the floor. The noise called her to turn around and revealed shining teal eyes. Biana ran towards me and gave me a big hug.
"Sophie you're okay!" She yelled excitedly. On the outside a few cracks mended together.
"Biana, what is this?" I asked dumbfounded.
"It's a trick my dad taught Fitz and I. Fitz of course learned it before the hour was over because of his telepathy, but it took me while." She explained.
"It's not that strong though, I'm surprised it held up for this long." She added. Biana tapped on the glass once and some cracks spread in the purple glass.
"I haven't been hurt or anything so I'll I'd say that's a win." She smiled.
"I can't bring you back unless you consciousness isn't harmed." I said, still extremely confused.
"Oh okay then." Biana responded quickly and went straight to kicking the glass sphere with her heels.
"Biana what are you doing?" I shrieked. She fell over very quickly and I then understood what she did as we both fell into the darkness together. I started transmitting happiness and hope to her subconscious and I saw the cracks mend together before my eyes. I thought of when I came to the lost cities, when she became my actual friend, whenever I passed a test. I focused it and sent it into her mind. When every single crack was mended I slipped out and leaned back in the bed.
My eyes sprung open and saw everyone glaring at me, but with an expression of worry instead of anger. I rubbed the back of my neck shyly.
"Sophie Eliza-" Grady started with a sigh but Biana spoke out before he could finish.
"Hi!" She exclaimed happily. Everyone bear-hugged Biana, especially Dex.
"You're excused this time." Grady mumbled standing next to his wife. Edlaine pulled me up and into an soft hug.
"I love you both." I mumbled and I leaned myself into their embrace. When we returned to Havenfield Elwin gave me some elixirs and said to go to be immediately.
"You better listen to the doctor this time Sophie." Edaline laughed and helped me walk upstairs. Grady followed behind us then opened my bedroom door. I've never been more excited to see my room in my life. I laid down in my bed and Edaline pushed the covers up to my neck and gave me a gentle kiss on the forehead. She brushed some hair out of my face and stepped back.
"It's good to have you back kiddo." Grady told me. Edaline nodded in agreement.
"We love you." Grady said.
"So much." Edaline added.
"I love you too mom, dad."(Guess who's 2 chapters away from finally writing 13?)
