Sophie's POV
I walked down the hallway, my green level for cape swaying behind me. It was my first day back at Foxfire since break. I was walking towards my Elvin history classroom, alone.
Before I could react I was pulled into an empty classroom. A cloth was placed in front of my nose and mouth, making me unable to breath. Gasping and clawing at the attacker I noticed the black cloak. Neverseen, of course.
The bitter sweet smell of sedatives fill my nose and I fell backwards still clawing at the hand holding the cloth in front of my face. My vision went blurry and dark until my eyes closed and I slipped into unconsciousness. My eyes fluttered open only for me to see nothing. Blindfold. A loose gag was around my mouth, and the lingering taste of sedatives in my mouth. After moving my jaw a bit I was able to open my mouth and talk.
"Where am I?" I asked shaking but trying to hide my emotions.
"No one can hear you." A sickly familiar voice responded.
"Who are you?" I growled.
"My my Sophie, so many questions. I heard hard footsteps then felt hands circle my cheeks and slap me.
"Let go of me." I spat at him shutting my eyes tight and flinching. They didn't stop.
"I said let go!" I screamed, I sent my anger and fear out to him but to no avail.
"Oh Sophie! The cuffs flashed purple." He laughed.
"You tried to use you powers on me." He snarled darkly. The crackling of a medler made my eyes widen.
"Ah everyone loves medlers, don't they?" He asked sarcastically before zapping me with a powerful shock. I screamed loudly in pain and I thrashed against the metal cuffs that dug and chafed my wrists. I tried reaching out to Fitz, Biana, Edaline, anyone! But to no avail, the neverseen member in front of me only zapped me every time.Fitz's POV
I was sitting in telepathy class waiting for Sophie to arrive. I haven't seen her in a few days so I was excited. After a few minutes I started to get worried.
"Where is she?" I mumbled.
"She was here this morning according to Biana, where could She be?" I asked Teirgen. He shook his head and walked over to the door and scouted the hallway fire Sophie.
"Biana what's wrong?" Teirgen spotted my sister but she just pushed by him and ran to me.
"The Neverseen," she gasped for air.
"They took Sophie." She whimpered. She handed me a piece of paper, it was a note from the Neverseen. My eyes widened while reading the note. I clutched the note in my hands and snarled.
"I'll tell Magnate Leto, we must evacuate the school." Teirgen added frantically while existing himself from the room to hail Magnate Leto. Almost a minute later an announcement was made over the speaker system.
"Hello students, school will be ending early today, so may all professors let students head to the main hall." Magnate Leto said and shortly after I heard the shuffle of students from nearby classrooms.
"Let's go Biana." I said dryly as I handed her a handkerchief. We joined the crowd of students. The white level 6 capes waved in our faces, only one single green cape stood out among the rest. Biana was sniffling, even when all of the white capes joined the copious amounts of colored capes and laughing students. Biana and I were the only two quiet out of the hoard of students."You're all dismissed!" Magnate Leto's voice rang through the large room filled with all of the students. Happy laughs bounces off the halls as students shuffled to the leapmasters, but Magnate Leto pulled us aside.
"Fitz, Biana, will you do me the favor of informing Grady and Edaline of this uh... situation?" He asked. I nodded, rubbing my red eyes one last time and dragged Biana to the long line of students. Group by group, person by person, we were finally at the crystal platform.
"Havenfield." I whispered softly. Honestly, I was scared of what might happen. They could hate me forever... this is the second time their daughter had been kidnapped by the Neverseen, and I have to tell them? I held onto Biana's shoulder as we stepped into the light."Sophie what are you doing here so early?" Grady asked, not looking up from his book. Edaline noticed the absence of Sophie first.
"Fitz, Biana?" She asked.
"Where's Sophie?" Edaline added. My stomach clenched and I looked at my feet solemnly.
"Sophie, she disappeared this morning." I clenched my eyes together as I spoke quietly.
"Biana found a note in her locker." I shivered in regret as I spoke and I noticed tear drops on my shoes. I tired to speak but all that cake out were choked sobs.
"It was the Neverseen, again." Biana said dreadfully. I glanced up at Grady and Edaline's blurry embrace. Edaline was choked up and Grady had a look of sadness and anger carved into his face.
"Thank you, you two, for telling us." Grady spoke with his voice muffled. I nodded and gave Biana a side hug as we walked slowly to the leapmaster.
"Everglen..." Biana quivered. The crystals spun around, kind of like my thoughts. The beam of light let out a soft blue glow lighting up the room. Biana and I walked by looking at the crystalline platform beneath our feet. I didn't want to see anyone right now, not even my family.
Biana gave me one last hug and walked sadly to her room. I opened my door, it opening with a loud creak in the quiet hall. I know the BlackSwan will be working around the clock to get her back as soon as possible. But that doesn't stop my worrying. I lied down on my soft bed and fumbled with my cognate ring. 'S.E.F.R and F.A.V' were engraved on the inner band. The copper engravings mixing beautifully with the simple golden band, featuring a small engraved circle right under my knuckle.
The circle had a small amber-brown diamond inside it. Sophie's had a teal one. Looking at the ring made me want to breakdown, so I ignored the pain and slowly put the ring back on. I wanted to lock myself in my room and never come out, but that won't help her at all. I'm going to look for Sophie. But, I'll need help. I ran to Biana's room and slammed the door open, she was sitting at her vanity silently brushing her hair. She flinched when the door hit her pink walls harshly.
"I'm going to look for Sophie, want in little sister." She grinned softly setting down her brush.
"Lets do it brother." Biana exclaimed. I pushed the negative thoughts to the back of my head knowing they won't help, I need to focus if I want to find my cognate.
"I'll hail Dex, you get keefe and the twins." She ordered as she grabbed her imparter off her desk swiftly.Biana's POV
Having trouble focusing on these new hopes of saving my friends, I tried to set those mind shattering thoughts aside. Fitz left my room to talk to Keefe and the twins, so I talked to Dex.
"Hey Biana, are you okay?" Dex quivered. So he already knows thank god.
"We're going to save Sophie."
