FN-2187's earliest memories stem from The First Order. He can't remember what his childhood was like- if he even had one- nor can he remember anything from before he first put on his stormtrooper helmet. Holding no recollection of the family he might have had before all of this, he is left wondering if they even remember him at all. Do they mourn the son they lost, or are they too, left with no memories of him other than a feeling of distant emptiness?
Poe Dameron doesn't seem to mind. He treats Finn-that's his name now (Finn thinks he likes it)- not as a former stormtrooper, but as an ally. As a friend.
And that's overwhelming.
Finn doesn't know if he deserves any of this- Poe, Rey, or even the Resistance. Poe is determined to change that.

basically how the sequel trilogy should have turned out for our galactic space boyfriends.

The title and song are a reference to Home by One Direction. I am still debating on keeping this title but for now, this is what I have decided have- I think the lyrics apply really well to finnpoe and to the relationship I am going to be portraying in this fic so it seemed fitting. Please give it a listen to if you would like!)
Thank you to everyone who is reading this, it really means the world to me and I hope you all like it! Also, I know they will never see this, but huge thank you and shout-out to Oscar Isaac and John Boyega for portraying these characters so well and doing everything they could to give us representation in Star Wars. It's not often that actors are so genuine in their support of LGBTQ+ relationships for their characters and it means a lot that they still are going strong, even after TROS. Lastly, I am dedicating this specifically to theineffablejedi for encouraging me to write this and for always being such a fun person to yell about star wars with :)
