The clock struck 2:30. School was officially over for the day. The sound of hundreds of teenagers filled the hallway, but Ace heard his phone ring, despite all the noise. He looked at the Caller ID.
Incoming call from Blue's Bitch
Bellissima? Ace thought. She rarely called him, she preferred texting. He answered.
"Cherie, couldn't last longer than a period without hearing my voice, huh?" Ace said in a jokingly flirty tone.
"Don't flatter yourself too much, Card Boy. I was just wondering if you could drive me home and then we could just get ready a little earlier than expected. Cayenne drove me to school this morning but she's ditching me to hang with Drake, I should've guessed." Ace could feel Magenta roll her eyes through the phone.
"Don't worry, pluie. I will be the best Uber you've ever had, and I can promise you that," Ace smirked. "Meet me at my car and I'll drive you."
"I'm already there, thanks."
"How'd you know I was going to say-"
"I know you, Ace. Thanks." Magenta hung up. Ace laughed. She did know him all too well.
Ace arrived at his car and they both hopped in and drove off to Magenta's house. Magenta grabbed her house key and unlocked the front door.
"Hey, Aunt Holly," Magenta said as she made her way to the kitchen.
"Magenta, darling. It's great to see you!" Magenta's aunt replied, turning to face Magenta. Her aunt saw Ace. "Spades! It's great to see you."
"Great to see you too, Osmanthus," Ace joked. (A/N: Osmanthus is also known as fake Holly. It looks like Holly but is not a Holly plant.)
"What brings you here?" Holly asked.
"Ava's Christmas party. He's driving me. And Cayenne ditched me for Drake, so he's just staying here until the party starts," Magenta said without missing a beat. Ace nodded, agreeing.
"Lovely. Have fun." Holly turned around and went back to her cooking book. Holly was young, 28 to be exact. Holly was also very laid back. She didn't really care what Magenta did. She figured if anyone could take care of themselves it would be Magenta. After all, she's 18. She's an adult.
"Thanks." Magenta and Ace went upstairs to Magenta's room. Magenta took a seat in a crimson bean bag and Ace took a seat on her double bed.
Her room was darker than a typical girl's room would be. Usually, when you think about a girl's room, you think of white walls and white sheets and white everything, because that's what's "aesthetic." But Magenta's room is different.
One of her walls, her accent wall, is a huge chalkboard that has all sorts of creations on it, from To-Do lists to huge Rorschach tests. (A/N: Rorschach tests are the inkblot tests that are used to test your mental state by asking what the images are.) Magenta wanted to become a counselor when she grew older, and the first step was inkblot tests. Her other walls were a scarlet color. She had a lot of signs and pictures on the scarlet walls. One of her favorite signs was one that said "Watch you man, and you should watch your mouth." - Nicki Manaj. One of her favorite pictures was a picture of Cayenne, Sadie, Leon, Drake, Ace, and her all together at the park during their sophomore year.
Her floor was a smoke gray carpet. She had a corner of her room that had a beanbag and a bookshelf, as well as a guitar. The other corner was where her bed was. Her bed was a double bed with a black frame and stone gray sheets. It had a ton of light gray throw pillows and blankets. A different corner of her room had a bay window with red throw pillows and blankets. It also had a white vanity, which was a pop of color for her room. That was one thing she liked about her room, it could make white pop. There was a gray stool that was tucked under her vanity. The last corner of her room was where the door was, as well as a full body mirror.
