Chapter Six

"So, as our first day as a couple, what are we doing?" Ace asked as he put his arm around Magenta and kissed her forehead.

"How about babysitting a junior?" Magenta stopped scrolling and set down her phone.

"Pardon?"

"Remember those juniors that kindly let us into Ava's party? Well, the girl's in jail and her best friend and her boyfriend are babysitting the boy so we need to help them."

Ace frowned. "But why?"

Magenta stuck out her bottom lip. "Please, babe?"

"No."

"Card boy?"

"Nope."

"Acey?"

"Ugh, fine. But I'm not going to like it!" Ace rolled his eyes and Magenta smiled as she dragged him out to the car. Magenta drove to the address and knocked on the door. She heard some yelling and then the door was opened.

"Are you guys, by chance, Magenta and Ace? Because that would be fantastic." The girl who answered the door spoke in a tired voice.

"At your service, ma'am," Ace said as he bowed.

"Lovely!" The girl gestured for them to come in, and they did as they were told. They sat on the couch and the girl sat across from them on an ottoman. "I'm Kristen Meyers. That guy over there," she said as she pointed to a boy playing the Xbox. "That's Jax, Emma's boyfriend. And the other guy is Jacob, my boyfriend." Kristen smiled at the thought. "I honestly can't express my gratitude enough. This past month has been complete hell."

"Girl, we are here for you. Ace can chill with the dudes for a bit while we go grocery shopping." Magenta winked.

"That sounds lovely. Ace, do you mind?"

"As long as you have enough controllers, sign me up." They all laughed as Kristen stood up and handed Ace a controller. "Sweet!" Kristen walked over to Jacob and Jax.

"Boys, I'm leaving you here with Ace while his girlfriend, Magenta, and I go to the store. If I hear even one complaint, I will burn the macaroni and cheese right in front of your face. Do I make myself clear?"

"Crystal," Jacob said as Jax nodded. Kristen smiled in approval and kissed Jacob on the cheek. She grabbed the keys and walked outside, Magenta following.

"So, we aren't actually going to the store, right?" Kristen asked.

"Heavens no! We're going to get our nails done!" Magenta smiled.

"Well then let's go!" The girls hopped in the car and drove off to the nail salon.

"The red really makes your eyes pop, babe." Kristen told Magenta.

"Girl, that white is gorgeous!"

"You don't understand how badly I needed this."

"Girl, I feel!"

"How do you think they're doing?"

"I'll text Ace and ask."

"I'll text Jacob."

Magenta pulled out her phone and Kristen did the same.

Blue's Bitch 💜💍🧸: Hey, how's it going?
Card Boy 💞♠️💋: Not as bad as I expected. I'm playing under Kristen's account. Hope she doesn't mind.
Blue's Bitch 💜💍🧸: I'm sure it's fine. I can't thank you enough.
Card Boy 💞♠️💋: Anything for you, bellissima. How's shopping?
Blue's Bitch 💜💍🧸: Going great! Just can't find the right brand of macaroni and cheese...

Angel 😇🤍🔥: How's everything? Is Jax behaving?
Boo 😈💙🧩: Jax is doing great. Him and Ace have been hitting it off. Thinking about you, love. How's shopping.
Angel 😇🤍🔥: That's great to hear. Shopping's going good. Looking for macaroni and cheese right now.
Boo 😈💙🧩: Hurry home, I miss you.

"I told him we couldn't find the right macaroni and cheese." Kristen said as she set down her phone.

"No way. I said the exact same thing!"

"Great minds think alike." Kristen winked. "Although, I must admit, I feel terrible lying to them."

"Same here, girl. But we can just tell them after. And we can make it up to them. The next time we'll babysit and they can go out and do guy things."

"Next time?"

"Of course! You didn't expect this to be a one time thing, did you?"

"You are officially my favorite senior."

"And you're my favorite junior."

The girls finished up at the nail salon and came back to the house. Kristen unlocked the door and the girls saw the guys all asleep, the Xbox still running.

Kristen looked at Jacob and smiled a soft smile. "Isn't he adorable when he sleeps?"

Magenta looked at Ace. "I don't know, I think Ace is cuter." She shrugged. A smile slowly grew on Ace's face. Magenta gestured to Kristen and Kristen pointed to Jacob, who had the exact same smile.

Kristen sat down next to Jacob and started playing with his hair. "And he's always been a terrible fake sleeper," she whispered. He slowly opened his eyes, and the other boys did too. Jacob pulled Kristen in for a kiss and Ace kissed the top of Magenta's forehead.

Jax spoke up. "Did you get the macaroni and cheese?" Magenta looked at Kristen with wide eyes and Kristen winked as she pulled out macaroni and cheese from her pocket. Jax smiled brightly as he took the macaroni and cheese. Magenta let out a relieved sigh. Jax handed back the box to Kristen.

"I, uh, actually don't know how to make macaroni and cheese."

Kristen laughed as she walked to the kitchen to make the macaroni and cheese. Magenta and Ace said bye and walked outside to the car.

"Thanks for this, Acey." Magenta smiled warmly and she took his hand.

"Anytime, bellissima." Ace squeezed her hand. And with that, they drove off.
