Chapter 33: Scared

Shawn's POV

My breath grew heavy as my body lundged out of the building, my legs ran faster than my body as I sprinted across a highway, honks came in every direction.

I ran into the woods and kept running till my foot tripped over a branch, sending my to the cold hard ground.

I rolled over on my back and stared up at the stars that scattered across the night sky.

A tear rolled down my face.

This was like me and Haley's first date.

*flashback*

I sat there, my palms sweaty as I stared at the beautiful girl inches away from me. The only thing seperating us was a nicely decorated table.

She turned her fork to collect the hanging spagetti, she cautionly put the spagetti in her mouth, sauce covered the corner of her mouth.
I smiled at her, a small giggle escaping her lips.

"I wanna take you somewhere" I whispered, a smirk grew on my lips, Haley's cheeks flushed bright red as I grabbed her hand and led her out of the resturant.
We walked down a long path and ended up in a small field, she smiled and looked up at the night sky.

I stared at her and thought how lucky I was.

She then slowly sat down in the long grass, I sat down beside her.

"Look up" She whispered pushing her finger under my chin, which caused my head to bob up.

The stars glimmered, I stared in awe.

My eyes looked down for a split second to see a small wildflower sticking out of the ground, I quickly plucked it and faced Haley.

"Haley" My small voice said, her head spun to me.
Her eyes darted to the flower in my hand, a small smile on her lips was all I could see from the moon light.

"I know that this is awkward, but I had the best time with you tonight, I think you are the most beautiful girl I've ever seen, all im trying to say.." I paused and looked deep into her eyes. "Haley, will you be my girlfriend?"

She gasped before flinging her arms around me, her eyes darted to my lips before quickly joining them.

It was perfect.

*end of flashback*

My face was now soaked with tears.

'Haley" My voice choked out.

I was now full on sobbing.
"Please stop" I whispered, a dark shadow suddenly towered over me.
"This is perfect Shawn, just me and you under the stars" Its eerie voice spoke. "No more Haley..'

I quickly sat up and pushed myself back until I felt something hit my back, a tree.

"You can't fight me" It whispered coming closer to me, my eyes screwed shut as I felt myself spitting up the black paste.
"Stop" I struggled to get out.

"Shawn" It called me.

"Just go a-away" My strength grew weak.
"Im not gonna hurt you" I shook my head quickly. "Yes you are"
"NO IM NOT" It shouted in my ear, a silence fell.

I slowly opened one eye.

Nothing.

I pushed my back off the tree and look around.
I started coughing repeatedly.

"You're ignoring me Shawn'" A voice whispered.
I coughed until I began losing breath.

"GO AWAY, I DONT CARE" I yelled. "You dont scare me, you never did' I looked up with a deadly glare.

A lady in all black stood there, her eyes red.
I slowly pushed myself up, I was weak, but I couldn't show it.

I pushed the lady into a tree.

"I thought you were scared" She looked at me. "You're weak Shawn" A wide smile on her face.

I raged with anger before slapping her in the mouth, she looked shocked.

I felt as if in a matter if seconds I was going to drop, I couldn't take it anymore.

"You must me scared' She mumbled, I shook my head.

"BE SCARED" She screamed, I started coughing again.
"I-Im not scared" I coughed.

I began choking, my breath was cut off as a smoking black mist came out of my mouth, I dropped to my knees.

The lady began to fade away, her scream was the last I heard before I blacked out.
