No one really seemed to pay a lot of attention when I had opened the door, just slightly curious as to where Noah went.  Once I had left his car, he said a quick bye before driving away.

Now I was laying on my bed, everyone having gone home at this point.  It was dark outside, and my family still wasn't home yet.  I sighed.

Noah was probably right.  Fuck it, he was completely right.  Everyone outside of our relationship probably sees this as child exploitation or manipulation of a minor to get sex.

I do care for Shayne, a lot, as does he for me.  I think our relationship isn't something wrong, it just happened at the wrong place in the wrong time.

If I wasn't part of the school where he taught, it'd be perfectly fine, perfectly legal.  Once I'm out of high school, it'll be fine for anyone to know that we're dating.

But right now, it's undercover, like how it should stay.

My phone chimed on my dresser with a text from someone.

I wanted to ignore it, but I looked at it anyway.

It was Shayne, with a cute goodnight message.

I didn't know whether to respond.  He knows I've seen it, it says "read" at the bottom of the text chain, so that would just be cold.  I'm not breaking up with him, or running away, so why ignore him? 

Without further thought, I slowly typed a response.

He appeared to be typing for a while before I finally received a message.

i'm not trying to be pushy, i'm sorry if you didn't want me to bring this up again with you, but can i know your thoughts about going to oregon with me over break? it's only three-four days

To be honest, I had pushed it to the back of my mind.  I don't think I was as opposed to the idea as before.
