A/N: ⚠️This is the sequel to "This is just peachy." If you have not read it, you should before you read this one!⚠️
*The night after the phone call*
Me and Otto hid in the bushes at a college campus waiting for the rest of the group to arrive. My heart was beating faster and faster that I started shaking. Otto didn't notice and kept looking through the leafs. "This wasn't a good idea." I whispered putting my hands in my pockets to get warm.
It was around one am and it was in the twenties. We only had black little hoodies on. "You want more people to die?" Otto sighed still looking through the bush. I rolled my eyes and rolled into a ball. My anxiety was taking over my body. I felt fear running through my wrist making me shake even more.
'There they are, but I can't see Awsten's glowing hair." Otto got out of the bush and started walking to the big gate. I took a deep breath and tried to work up the courage to move, but I couldn't. I stayed in the bush looking like an idiot. I couldn't see Awsten. I couldn't see his smile or his eyes. It would break me, I haven't seen him in months. How could he still feel the same?
I felt someone yank my arm, pulling me out of the bush. I tried to scream but my mouth was covered by a hand. I was kicking and moving as much as I could to get out of this person's grasp. They finally let go and I turned around to see who it was.
I was furious until I stumbled back as I saw the glow of neon green hair. "Hey jelly bean." My legs started shaking, causing me to loose my balance and fall. I then felt a pair of hands around my waist. I looked to see Awsten caught me from falling. I stood there with shaky breath trying to get my thoughts together but everything left me. I felt empty looking at him.
"God, didn't I tell you guys to get a room?" I looked to see Jawn walking toward us with a smile. Awsten instantly dropped me to the ground, I groaned and rubbed my back. "Well aren't you quite the Romeo." Travis chuckled helping me off the ground. I didn't say anything, all I did was stand there. "I think you broke her." Otto laughed.
"Alright let's get straight to business. So this college is where most of the killings happened. Most of the victims walked around here at this time or a little bit later. That's when the killer or should I say Frank strikes. He finds people who are alone and lies saying that he needs help or whatever. When he has the victims trust he kidnaps them and kills them." Travis said pulling out his phone and showing us his plan.
After we all talked and came to an agreement, our plan was in action. And of course they chose me as bait for Frank. They gave me fake textbooks and told me to "act natural" while walking around the campus. Awsten and Jawn were hiding very close to me just in case anything went wrong. I was scared but I needed to be brave for all the victims and ones in the future.
I started walking up and down the sidewalk, pulling out my phone trying to look distracted. I saw Awsten's glowing hair in the bushes. I chuckled knowing he probably thinks he's hidden super well. I wish I could stay with him. After this is over what's going to happen? Will we go months or even years without talking? I can't lose him again. We've been through so much. What if he finds someone else to write songs about? God, that's going to break me.
"Excuse me!" I turned around to see a man with brown frizzy hair. He looked super familiar. I stepped closer to him. "Can I help you?" I asked glancing over at the bush Awsten and Jawn were hiding in. "Yes, um I'm lost and out of gas. Could you help me out?" He asked looking at me with worry in his eyes. "What's your name?" I asked clenching the fake books in fear.
"My name's Ray." Oh my god. I dropped the books in shock. "A fan?" He chuckled. I gotta play it off cool. "A fan? Are you famous? I'm sorry, that name is just my old best friends name and you look like him a little bit." I lied picking up the books again. The books had a mic in it to record a conversation if anything happened. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have assumed that you were a fan." He said rubbing the back of his neck.
I looked over at another bush that Otto and Travis were sitting in. One of them gave me a thumbs up. I forgot to mention, Travis had an ear piece that can hear what the mic picks up so if we got the killer then he would have evidence. "Um so, what can I do to help you?" I asked with a fake smile. "If you could help me move my car to a gas station, that would be great." He smiled pointing to a car that was parked on the opposite side of the gate.
I looked over at the bush and saw Travis gave me a thumbs down. "Uh, I wish I could help but I really need to get to class." I sighed walking away. "No, you're going to help me." Ray grabbed my wrist and stared right into my eyes. I felt fear crashing over me. What do I do? Do I go with him or run? He could have a knife or a gun on him right now.
"Please let go of me." I said trying to break free from his grasp. "Help me." He said again. "Let me go!" I yelled, still trying to break free. "No one else will help me. I don't know what to do." Man, he's good at this. If I didn't know what he was up to, I would believe him. "Look, I need to go to class. Let me go." He then let go of my wrist and stumbled back.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have grabbed you. I'm just super stressed and I'm lost. But I understand if you need to go to class." He said with a sigh. He then turned his back to me and walked to the car. I looked over to see Travis popping out of the bush. "Go after him! We will follow you." He mouthed. "Are you sure?" I mouthed back. He then nodded and grabbed Otto from the bush.
I then saw Awsten and Jawn pop out of another bush and they followed Travis and Otto to the car. I looked back at Ray who was about to cross the road. "Wait!" I yelled running up to him. He shot his head toward me and smiled wide.
"I'll help you." That was one of the biggest mistakes I have ever made. I thought my friends were going to keep me safe, it would have been different if we had a plan B.
"Thank you so much! Please, sit up front." He smiled opening the door for me. I nodded and sat down in the passengers seat. "Go ahead and buckle up." He said closing the door. I didn't want to, it could get locked and I wouldn't be able to escape.
Ray then opened the driver's door, he sat down and closed it. He turned the keys to make the engine go. The car started up with no problem, that's weird. I looked at the gas tank and it was half way full.
"I thought you said you were out of gas." I said with panic in my voice. "And I thought I told you to buckle up." He said, gripping the steering wheel."I need to leave." I whispered, reaching for the handle to open the door. "You mean to your fake class." I looked over to see Ray had a gun pointing at me.
"This college doesn't have night classes, you would know that if you were a real student." He smirked. "You said you needed help." I said with a shaky voice. He laughed with a scoff following it.
"You're the one that is going to need help."
