After waiting for Awsten to wake up, I thought about how we were going to escape. First, we had to find Otto no matter what condition he's in. Then we have to try to get in touch with Travis, it didn't help that Mikey took our walkie talkies away. We had to find somehow to out run Mikey, Frank, Geoff, and Ray. Even though the last two are probably on our side.
But wait, didn't Mikey say he had a guest? Great, another person trying to kill us, that's just perfect. As I was about to continue thinking about my plan, I heard a groan from the opposite side of the room. "(Y/N)?" Awsten whispered, lifting his head up to look at me. I gasped as I looked at him. His face was beaten and there was little cuts all over his cheeks and lips.
"Hey." I replied, showing him a smile. My heart completely broke when I saw him, he looked like he was in such pain, I could see it in his eyes. It hurt me even more, because I couldn't save him. "Look, we need to get out of here. Mikey will be back soon and we still need to find Otto. Will you help me?" All he said to me was, "Hell yeah."
I guess Mikey didn't plan for Awsten to wake up soon, since he was right next to the table filled with weapons. He tried to grab a knife off of the table so he could cut the ropes off of his hands, but he was stopped by a cut deep in his wrist. Whoever hurt him made sure that he was in no position to do anything.
"Okay, Awsten. You need to fight through the pain, and get that knife. If you don't, we're all dead." He nodded in response and screamed in pain as he reached for the knife. Seeing him yelling like that, reminded me of when I use lotion to squeeze my wrists through the chains he had tied me up with, two years ago.
As he yelled one more time in pain, he had got the weapon and started cutting the ropes around his wrist. "Oh my god." I said, letting out a sigh of relief. He let out a gasp. I looked over to see him rubbing his free wrists and the ropes on the ground. "Awsten, you did it!" I whispered yelled.
He looked at me without saying a word. The happiness drained out of me and was filled with confusion. "I'm sorry love, but you're safer here." He said, grabbing the knife he used and putting it in his back pocket. "What do you mean?" I asked, waiting for him to untie me. "I have some business to take care of. Once it's safe, I'll come back for you." He went and reached for the door handle.
"Awsten! You are not leaving me in here! I need to go find Otto!" He didn't answer me, he just stared at the door. "Please," I cried out. "If you even cared enough for Otto, let me find him before it's too late. I don't want to lose him again, I just got him back." I said, trying to make him feel bad so he would let me go.
"But I don't want to lose you." He replied, turning around to look at me. There was a mix of love and sadness in his eyes. I was selfish, I didn't care if he didn't want to lose me. He lost me long ago, but he doesn't know that yet.
No one does.
I'm still waiting for him to come back, when he said it's safe. But the world is never safe. Everyone knows that.
