Chapter 31 'Stolen II'

"Mommy, you're back," I heard Atlas behind me, I nodded and said, "Where's your sister?" He shrugged and said he didn't know. I ran downstairs and saw a GCPD car through the window, I ran outside, immediately heading towards it as a blond woman wearing a mask pushes Orchid into the car.

I could hear here crying out for me, I ran as fast as I could, trying to catch up to the moving car. I used my abilities to try to help me stop the car, my glowing hands barely touched the car and I felt something push me back. I went flying back and then everything went black.

My eyes flew open and I sat up quickly. I wasn't in my house, I was in a very... Fancy, very dark room. "Good, you're awake," I looked around and saw Barbara sitting on a chair, Tabitha standing behind her.
"What happened? Where's Orchid?" I asked frantically, "From what your babysitter told me, someone kidnapped Orchid... Don't worry, Atlas is safe with Selina," Barbara said, Tabitha sat next to me, rubbing my back trying to comfort me.

"Who the hell could've done this... The only blonde I know is Barbara," I said.
"It was a blonde?" Tabitha asked, I nodded and said, "She used a doll like mask to cover her face, and drove away in a GCPD car,"

"Maybe someone at the GCPD saw the car being stolen," Barbara said.
I ran my hand through my hair and said, "How the hell am I going to tell Jerome?"
"Easy, don't," Barbara said. Tabitha and I looked at her like she was crazy,
"What, if you don't tell him then you won't have any trouble," She said.
I shook my head and said, "Jerome and I are... Complicated but I can't do that to him,"

"Complicated? He tried to kill you," she said. "It's not- it's just complicated, okay? But I can't not tell him," I argued, she rolled her eyes and I got up from the couch, I immediately, my body felt weak as I stood, gravity forcing me back down. "Maybe you should leave the detective work to us," Tabitha said,
I shook my head and said, "That car was tempered with, it had some sort of shield, and it blew me back." If that shield deflected me with my powers then Orchid can't use hers either.

"I need to see Jerome, please," I begged, Jerome should be the last person I wanna talk to but right now, I needed him. "Lucky for you we already knew what you were going for," Barbara said, just then the door opened, Jerome walked in, still in his arkham uniform.
As he stood in front of me, we both stared at each other, a mix of worry, hate and love stirred in his eyes.
I pulled him towards me, embracing him with all I had, he hugged me tightly, placing a small kiss on my head.

I noticed that Barbara and Tabitha had given us the room to ourselves.
"Are you okay? Did those bastards hurt you?" Jerome asked as he ended the hug, I shook my head and said, "I'm fine, they took Orchid though... There was a woman with blonde hair and a doll mask covered her face." I could see the rage boiling inside of him, "Don't worry." He took a deep breath, calming himself as he exhaled, "We'll get Orchid and whoever did this will regret the day they were born," I nod and lied down, my restoration abilities were slowed down by the blast...

"My body isn't healing as well as before... it's going to be a while before I can get back on my feet," I said, he placed a kiss on my forehead and said, "Don't worry, I still have tricks up my sleeve,"
