2 days later.
I threw all the stuff on my desk against the wall, yelling in frustration. "June! Calm down!" Jerome said, I looked at him, walking towards him with a death glare on my face. "Calm down?" I laughed, "OUR CHILD HAS BEEN KIDNAPPED FOR TWO DAYS AND YOU WANT ME TO CALM DOWN?" I scoffed and started walking back and forth, running my hand through my hair as I walked.
"Barbara will help us find her, just give her time," Jerome said as he picked up the sharp objects that fell on the ground. "Barbara fell of the face of the Earth, I can't get in touch with her," I said, he sighed and walked towards me.
I kept walking back and forth, flicking my hands like a match trying to light a fire, I was trying to get my powers to work but they stuttered and dissolved into nothing.I started feeling drained again, my body felt weak, Jerome caught me as I stumbled, "Hey, come on, sit down," He said pushing me onto my chair.
I sat down on the chair, he brushed off a strand of hair off my face and kissed me. As he pulled away, I couldn't help the tears that fell from my eyes,
"I can't... I can't feel her, Jerome, I miss her, and I hate that Atlas can't come home until we find her, I want my babies back," I said as I cried.Jerome hugged me as I cried and said, "We'll get her back, I know we will,"
Just then there was a knock at the door, I looked up at Jerome and he looked at the door, pulling out a pocket knife.
He had his arm out, holding me back as he went to answer the door.
He opened the door rapidly, pointing the knife at whoever stood. There was a box at the door, a small box just lying there on my doorstep.
Jerome hesitantly picked it up, looking around for whoever could've left it.
Once he made sure no one was there, he took it inside, closing the door behind him.
"You expecting something?" He asked as he placed the box on the table.
I shook my head and said, "No..."
He looked at me, eyebrow raised, he checked the box, "No address or anything, its got some heft to it though," Jerome said, I looked at the box, then at Jerome's hands.
"J... Y-Your hands..." He looked at the palm of his hands, his hands stained a dark red, he looked at me with widened eyes, then frantically opened the box.
"June... Don't look," Jerome said, my eyebrows furrowed, "W-what? What's in the box?" I asked, he shook his head and took the box, taking it away.
I stood up and grabbed his arm, "Jerome, what's going on, tell me—" I turned him around, getting a glimpse of what was in the box."I-Is that... Is that... Hands?" He nodded softly and I ran to the kitchen sink, throwing up my lunch and breakfast,
"Who the hell would do that?" I asked as I continued throwing up. He placed the box in a trash bag after taking out a small note from the box.
I cleaned my mouth with water from the faucet, wiping it off and walking towards him. "What's it say?" I asked, I read the note over his shoulder.
What's small and has no hands? Your daughter.
