My Birthday Wish~Taekai/Taening

Chapter 5

                         

 Huening Kai was at vocal lessons at the company. He was there with Soobin. They were singing their parts of the song for the new album. Kai's birthday was tomorrow and the boy was excited. They finish the recording but the producer asks him to stay back. 

"Hyung they ask me to stay back for a bit. So you can go ahead and leave."

"Ok. Then I see you at the dorms." 

~Back At The Dorm~

The boys was going over there surprise party plans for Huening Kai.

"Ok does everyone know what they are doing tomorrow," Soobin ask.

The three boys nod.

"Good. Taehyun make sure that you keep Kai busy that day. Take him out and just have fun."

"It basically sounds like date between those two," Beomgyu said, lifting his hair up from covering his eyes.

Taehyun didn't respond. He was mostly thinking of places he can take the younger boy to. He wanted Kai birthday to be perfect so he thought carefully about everything.

"Are you ever going to tell Kai you're feelings Tae?" Asked Soobin.

Yeonjun give the younger a nod and a thumbs up. "Yea I will be your number #1 supporter. So just do it." 

Taehyun sighed."I don't think I should though." 

"Well whatever you do. It up to you and not us." Soobin give Taehyun a comforting smile and his shoulder a little squeeze. Taehyun thank him. 

"Oh Yea. Don't forget to give me the money to buy food and stuff."

"Just make sure not to spend it all...I'm serious Taehyun. I want to be able to buy Banana milk for myself afterwards."

"Taehyun make sure to spend it all." Yeonjun whisper to the boy. 

"HEY! I heard that."

All the boys laughed and went on with their cooking plans.

"Thanks for staying back and helping with the lyrics Kai. You're really good with coming up with this stuff." 

Kai was delighted with the compliment he got. He always wanted to help and produce songs one day. He was happy that he got some experience with it today. "Ah No, thank you for letting me help."  

"Make sure you get back safely." 

"I will." 

Kai bow to the older hyung. Then he collected his stuff and started walking to the dorms.

It was getting pretty late, the sun was setting. Giving the sky a pale tint of orange and pink emerge together. Huening Kai had his headphones in and he was listening to Taehyun cover of "Over And Over Again"

Wow. I can never get tired of listening to this. Taennie sensual voice and singing is truly an art. Huening thought.

He was enjoying his time walking and listening to music until he saw something strange coming into his view. It looks like a man picking up a leaves that was on the sidewalk. Huening was intrigued by the person but decided that he should hurry home. He wanted to talk to his lovely friend Taehyun. He started to miss him since he was at the studio all day.

The boy sightly quicken his pace. He walked right past the person that was collecting leaves until he was stopped by him. 

"Hey kiddo, look at this." Kai turn around and look at what the old man was doing. He show his collection of sugar maple leaves, that has a variety of colors. Kai thought it was weird, but he didn't mind listening to the stranger for a bit.

He noticed how the old man has white messy curls as hair and he had a gigantic beard like how Santa Claus in stories made him out to be. The old man smiles at Kai and spoke.

"This is for my new collection. I can put this up around my little old shop." 

"Mister you have a shop?" Kai asked with a slight tilt.

"Ah yes I do, but it isn't anything you should worry about."

"Oh ok. Well I should get going. I don't want to miss dinner." He really did want to go back and eat dinner. He recalled not eating anything while he was working with the producer today. Also it doesn't hurt to want to spend time with his best friend. Well it does in a way, since it doesn't help Kai get over his little crush on him at all. 

"You know, it be great for people to make wishes these days. The stars are fully out these days, meaning those bright little twinkles is on our side. Ain't astronomy a great thing boy."

Kai just shrug. "I guess."

"Hmm, I see you're not really fond of wishes ain't that right boy." He chuckles to himself. "Well I guess that ok since you pretty much got the thing you want." 

"Huh, What do you mean?" 

"People say they don't have wishes but, in fact they do. But most already do have that thing they want. You have that thing boy." The old men grab the younger hand."You just need to work up the courage for it to happen." 

Kai still didn't understand what the man meant. He wanted to fully understand what he was talking about. But he just decided to give up about what the crazy man was talking about.

"Thanks for the advice, I guess" Kai bow to his elder and went off walking again.

The old men watch him go and muttered "Kids these days, they be such interesting little Younkers." He puts his little leaves collection in his black cloak and before walking off he yelled to the boy. 

"Bye Kai!"

Kai stopped in his tracks. He didn't remember telling the man his name. "Wait how did yㅡ" by the time he turns the old man was gone.

"What taking him so long?" Taehyun said while looking at the ticking clock. 

"I'm sure your boyfriend be back any minute now." Beomgyu said patting his back.

Taehyun elbow Beomgyu in his sides. He continued doing so, until the other surrender.

"Ow! I was just kidding."

Just then Kai walked through the door. He then greeted everyone."Hello everyone. I'm Back." 

Taehyun went up to Kai. He crossed his arms across his chest. "Finally. What took you so long! We have been worried about you!"

"Sorry, I lost track of time." 

Taehyun sigh. He knew that Kai can be energetic at times, so he worry that he ended up adventuring off somewhere or getting lost, which he did before. 

"It ok. I just come pick you up next time. Come, Soobin just finish cooking." 

Kai smiled at him. They both join the others at the table. They ate and scurry off to bed. Ready for a certain person celebration tomorrow.
