Chapter 20~ Fixing the Mess pt.4

I look at the close doors. The sound of banging loudly rings in my ears. Dread quickly floods through me, scared of what's to come. 'Those doors won't hold much longer.'

"What have I got myself into..." I said softly not wanting the others to hear me. I try to look away, but my eyes couldn't. The door was about to give out.

I jump as a hand lands on my right shoulder. I turn to see Cole with a worried look on his face.

"It's going to be alright y/n. We'll be fine, I promise." He stares into my e/c eyes. Time seems to slow down for a moment. His brown eyes gleam with reassurance. We stood there for a few seconds just staring at each other. My face begin to turn red as my heart races. I smile at his comforting words.

"Thanks, Cole. I really needed that." He smiles brightly. Happy that he was able to cheer me up.

"Ahem." I jump again, not expecting everyone watching. I move away from Cole and turn to face the rest. They were pretending that they didn't see anything. My face turn even redder.

A loud beeping broke the tension.
"Pixal? Come in, Pixal. This is Nya."

All of our attention was soon focus on Nya's incoming call. Hoping for good news. Pixal turn on the screen showing Nya driving.

"Nya, where are you?" Pixal said.

"I'm with Zane and Lloyd. We have the second scroll, repeat, we have the second scroll." She said excitedly. I perk up at the good news.

Banging soon fill the room. The door was at it's final moments.
"What was that?!" Nya said worryingly. The sound of metal tearing was all we heard.

"The structural integrity of the doors are failing. You have to hurry Nya."

"Don't worry Pixal, we're coming." Nya said as the screen shuts off.
The door began to bend from the force. We all began to panic, especially Jay.

"What are we gonna do?!" He said as he shakes Kai. Pixal went off and start to type something. Each second drags and we await our certain doom.

"In there! Come on." Cole said grabbing Wu. We followed him to what looks like a manhole. He lifts the heavy cover revealing a hole. Wu enters first as Cole follows. I look down not liking this situation.

"Come on I'll catch you." Cole said having his arms stretch out. I nod and hold my dress down. Shutting my eyes I jump into his arms. He hold me steady as I open my eyes again. We stare at each other again, but this time we laugh it off. Jay soon follow, leaving Kai and Pixal.

"What's taking them so long?" I ask Jay. He just shrugs.

"I don't know, Pixal doing something."

Not a monet too soon Kai came in. A sudden burst made us silent. Knowing that the serpentine has made their way in.
We didn't dare move or made a sound. The only thing we heard was Aspheera getting frustrated. She slithers onto the manhole. Making some dust fall. Jay was about to sneeze but Cole stops it. He moves his arm away, until Jay let out a loud sneeze. Aspheera took off the cover and glares at us.

"You had one job, Jay! ONE JOB!!" I said angrily. He just awkwardly smiles.

"At last, I dreamed of this moment, Wu. I dreamed of it." Aspheera said not noticing a mech coming towards her.

"Keep dreaming." Aspheera turns around as the mech smacks her. "Get away from them, you witch!!" Pixal said, flinging her away. Jay and Cole stook their heads out cheering. I was about to do the same until Kai stops me.

"I think it's best if you wait here."

"But I want to help."

"No means no, y/n." Wu added. My expression changed into of a begging one. They looks at me with an unimpressed look. I sigh and sat back down. They soon all left to fight leaving me in the manhole. They also put back the heavy cover to make sure I don't leave.
