I gab my dress from the bag. I couldn't help but feel excited for the events to come. Dancing with both Cole and Lloyd and spending my time having fun with my friends.
I feel my face heats up, yet I didn't mind. It only made me even more excited.
"Nice dress! So that's what you're wearing for the dance... it suits you." Nya said awkwardly. I could see she was nervous and tense.
"I think so too. Hehe, never thought I'll see you this nervous."
"Well I- have never been invited to just "hang out", it always been the boys and me."
My heart sunk when I heard that. I understand why, being a ninja and protecting everyone is a full time job. Especially, when people treat their precious heroes terribly.
"Their lost! You're like the best person to hang out with! Moving on, are you excited about the dance?"
Nya smiles brightly seeing her nervousness melt away slowly. She nods enthusiastically.
"Yeah I am! It's actually my first time doing something like this."
I was shock by what she said just now. I expected Nya at least went to one dance.
"You got to be joking! You been in the city for who knows how long and- you haven't been to ONE dance before?!"
"Believe it or not I used to be a regular village girl before Kai and I met Sensei Wu."
I couldn't believe my ears. I expected something... more.
A knock echo throughout the room. Nya and I stop our conversation by the sudden interruption.
Amie enters the room holding a short light-blue dress in her left arm while holding dark blue flats and holding a few accessories in the other.
"Sorry that took so long. I was trying to convince my aunt to let me go to the dance." Amie said. I notice that she changed her outfit. Amie was wearing a elegant black dress that was hanging just above her shoulders. Giving the illusion at any moment it could slip off. The black dress didn't have any designs on which gave it a simple look.
"So what did she said?" I asks.
"She said, no, so I'm planing to sneak out."
"Of course you are. Here they thought I was the bad influence."
Amie chuckles as Nya returns to being tense. She hadn't say anything during the whole time here. An idea pop in my head.
"Amie can you do Nya's hair?"
Amie hums and glances at Nya. Nya didn't make eye contact and shot her eyes at me nervously.
"Yeah, I can. Her hair is just long enough for me to do something with it."
Amie got behind Nya and untie her ponytail. Her hair falls down framing her face as it reaches just below her shoulders.
"Sooo, do you got anything in mind?"
"Uhh, no... not exactly. Umm, surprise me, I guess?"
"Well then go put on you dress to see if it fits, then we do your hair. The bathroom is the right door next to mine."
Nya nods as she exits the room. Amie and I stay silent until we hear the bathroom door closes.
"So she's the famous water ninja?" Amie said in a low voice.
"Nya is just nervous. This is her first time hanging out with people who aren't the boys."
Amie nods trying to piece a plan together.
