Chapter 5

With Newt saying that he trusts me I give him a seat and prepare myself. I put on some gloves and start the tests. I talked with him hoping to calm him down and have him forget that I am the one who is doing the tests on him. I thought I did I well as I didn't hurt him and he was able to relax. He stared at me the whole time but I wouldn't blame him honestly. I see why he was worried and I understand that. He doesn't have to worry though as long as I am around. Nothing bad will ever happen to him under my watchful eye.

"I am done."

"What are my results?"

"You don't have the Flare. You are Flare-free."

He blew out the breath he was holding back and sighed. He suddenly smiled and when I was done cleaning up I go over to him and sat next to him on the bed. I look at Newt to see him doing the same, he then embraces me in a big hug.

"Thank you, Y/n."

"This is why I learned such things if you don't remember. I will protect you and others from any disease."

"You are amazing, Y/n."

"Thank you Newt, I could say the same for you as well."

We let go of our embrace and I look at my hands as a little bit of color show on my face

"I am just curious but what do you see yourself in the future."

"Hopefully all of us are safe and together and maybe...just maybe..."

I look at Newt who was looking at me and I move my hand towards his. His face bursts into a red color and a big smile appear on my face. After a few minutes of silence, I break it.

"Should we go?"

"Yeah, I guess so. It is pretty late."

"Ok."

We get up and are about to leave but the door is locked, which is very confusing seeing as it wasn't unlocked a little a while ago when I went to clean things up.

"Umm, I didn't lock it."

"I believe you but why is it not opening?"

"I can't answer that either."

I look around the room. Nothing is there to help us contact anyone or get us out so in short, we are stuck in this cold room alone for the night. We both realize the situation but luckily there are two beds for us both. We took one for each of us and it was utter silence for a while until Newt spoke first.

"It's so cold can we sleep together. I don't want to die from freezing."

"Good idea."

He gets in my bed and we cuddle each other as we tremble from the cold but are body heat soon makes it more comfortable and we soon fell asleep cuddling each other.

The next morning I wake up I was still in the same room but Newt was in the other bed and we had blankets on both of us and my head felt so heavy. It almost felt like I have an itch inside my head. I look at Newt and he was still out. I examined the surroundings and notice the door is unlocked and doctors were once here.

"The doctors were here, my head hurts, Newt and I are in separate beds, that can only mean that they did surgery on maybe both of us while we were asleep. That must be why they wanted me to go with him and that could be why they locked our door. To make it easier and less worrisome for our friends."

"That is an awesome observation, Y/n and you are not wrong, except we wanted you to do the tests on Newt as a test from us. You have passed your test so we moved on in both your and Newt's advancements. Although we won't tell you what happened because that is what you must figure out yourself."-Paige
