Chapter 2 - Mission

[Warning: includes a few swear words!]

1st Person POV
Tomioka-San and I arrive at the forest and walk in. There's this... weird aura which I don't know how to explain. It feels like it has murderous intent, well of course it has murderous intent... it's a demon!

Tomioka-San walks deeper into the forest as I follow. There are these sounds, like branches breaking, leaves crunching. Is someone following us? "There's something here," Tomioka-San whispers, I give him a nod as we both stay on alert.

Suddenly, something drops from above and lands in front of us. It's a demon, he has blood all over his mouth and hands. Tomioka-San swings into action and swings his sword at the demon, decapitating it almost immediately. He made it look so easy. Then I hear the sound of more footsteps approaching us. I close my eyes and listen to where it's coming from, there's multiple of them, coming from... behind!

I run behind Tomioka-San and see the demons sprinting towards us. There's around 7... why're there so many here? I run towards them and jump off the trees, giving me some momentum. (I didn't know how to explain this part I'm sorry—) I swing my sword, aiming for the necks of them. I decapitate about 3 of them, leaving 4 of them. 2 of the demons charge at me and the other 2 sprint towards Tomioka-San, who's fighting his own group of demons.

"T-TOMIOKA-SAN!! BEHIND YOU!" I scream as the demon tackles me to the ground. I don't think he heard! Dang it...! The demon tries to bite me, but I stick my sword inbetween it's mouth and push it back. I kick it away from me and run to the demons who're about to attack Tomioka-San and jump in front of him. I stab the closest demon in the stomach, obviously not killing him. "Shit...!" I mumbled to myself.

I yank my sword out of his stomach and kick it away, getting some distance between me and the enemy. The 2 demons I left behind start running towards me, along with the 2 other ones who tried to attack Tomioka-San. I breathe in, getting more power and swing my sword, decapitating all 4 demons.

After closing my eyes and trying to sense if there's any demons coming towards my way, I see that there's nothing, and so I turn around to help Tomioka-San. There's a whole horde coming towards him, so I jump in to help. "First Form: Dark Moon - Evening Palace," I whisper as I slash my sword swiftly, a bunch of crescent shaped blades come out from the slash. Slicing, severing some limbs and decapitating most of them. I take a deep breath in and exhale, calming down after using the attack. Tomioka-San kind of looked surprised. Then, Tomioka-San and I finish off the surviving demons and we take a breather.

Tomioka-San looks at me, "are you ok? Did you get hurt?", he looks kind of concerned, surprising me because usually he has a blank expression. I shake my head, "I didn't get hurt, luckily. You?", I scan him, searching for an injury or something. Nothing.

Tomioka-San shakes his head and I give him a warm and beaming smile, "I'm glad." He stares at me, my smile, and a tint of pink shows up on his cheeks. He quickly looks away, "w-we should get going. The demons might find us here if we stay for too long." We both stand up and I walk in a direction I think has something important there. Tomioka-San then follows.

As we're waking I see something in the distance, it looks like... more demon slayers? I run towards them, "hey wait!" I hear Tomioka-San behind me as he quickly follows behind me. As I get closer, there's 2 of them. One is wearing a green and black checkered haori and is carrying a box on his back, and the other is wearing a... boar head?

I shout, "hey!" And they both turn to see me and Tomioka-San running towards them. The boy with the box replies, "oh hi!", he looks behind me and sees Tomioka-San, "hi Giyuu!"

The boy with the box smiles at Tomioka-San and he gives one back, but it was really small. That was the first time I've seen him smile! Not gonna lie... it was kind of cute. Eh?! Why am I thinking this! Stop it!! I give myself a pinch on the arm and snap back into reality.

Time Skip - 10 Minutes

We decides that we should continue further into the forest after they had a conversation because it was wasting time. Then, I hear something approaching Tomioka-San and I. I give him a tap on his shoulder, "there's something coming." He gives me a nod and gets ready to fight. Suddenly, someone jumps out from the trees! It was a someone with a demon slayer uniform, but they were.... dead? Why're they moving?! The demon slayer's bones were all snapped, he was heavily injured before he died and yet, he was still moving.

I couldn't get myself to attack him, I can't move... he's getting closer but I still can't move!! I close my eyes and Tomioka-San slashes above the head of the demon slayer, did he just miss?? The body then dropped to the floor. "There are threads attached to the bodies. Cut them off and then they'll stop moving."

The body then rose up again. It had new threads attached? I look down to the floor and see little spiders. So those are the things making new threads. They're being controlled. I slashed the threads again and hear some footsteps, really fast ones coming towards us. I see another demon slayer coming from behind Tomioka-San about to attack. I jump behind him and it's too late for me to attack, it's already too close, so I blocked the sword attack with my body. "Ack!" I yelped in pain as I grasp the wound with my free hand. I cut the threads that are attached to the body, it dropping to the floor. I look at my wound, it's long, it's from my right shoulder almost all the way to my left hip.

I breathe in and use a breathing technique to lessen the pain and so that I could still fight as if I was never hurt. I was about to cut more of the threads, but Tomioka-San beat me to it. "We have to get away from here. We have to treat your wound and these people won't ever stop attacking," he told me as he protected me from more of the bodies approaching. I nodded as we both sprinted away from the enemies, and we stopped right at a clearing. I tried to take a breather, but then the pain hit me. "Urgh!" I yelped as the blood flowed down, staining the grass. "L/N-San!" Tomioka-San rushes to my side and caught me when I fell over, bringing me to a nearby log to rest on.

"You're doing great— just keep breathing, ok? I'll treat your wound, so just try to lessen the pain."

"O-Ok..." I'm losing more blood, I feel so weak... I can barely even speak properly!

Tomioka-San grabbed something from his haori; bandages. (lets just say he keeps stuff in his haori just in case of emergencies) He took off my haori and he had to take off my shirt to cover the wound.
"I-It doesn't matter if you see me almost naked... j-just cover the wound please..!" I almost demanded. As more blood flowed out, I got weaker and weaker, is everything getting darker—?

Giyuu's POV:
Dang it... she fainted. I took off Y/N's shirt, getting the bandages ready. Luckily she has a bra covering her, uhm... breasts.

I quickly wrapped the bandages around her wound and made sure that it was tight, but not too tight. I put her shirt and haori back on so that she wouldn't get cold and I sat next to her, waiting for her to wake up. I hope she doesn't get hurt like this anymore. I care about Y/N. I really do. She protected me when I wasn't looking... maybe if I paid more attention, she wouldn't have gotten hurt! She's one of the only people who willingly talks to me and who're nice to me. I sat next to her, waiting for her to wake up.

"Please don't leave, L/N-San."
