Chapter 9 - Fighting Together

Time Skip - Next day
"L/N-SAN! GO TO THE XXX VILLAGE! MULTIPLE DEMONS HAVE BEEN SPOTTED THERE! L/N-SAN WILL BE PARTNERED WITH TOMIOKA-SAN ONCE AGAIN!"

Y/N sighed, grabbing her blade and getting up from her bed. she stepped out into the hallway and saw blood. 'Oh right, I haven't cleaned up the blood stains yet...' Y/N remembered, but decided to do it later because this mission was probably urgent. She stepped out of her estate and went to the village she was called to, Giyuu wasn't in sight on her way there, making her wonder is he even was coming or not.

Y/N got to the village and patrolled the area, there were suspicious sounds coming from every direction. She looked for the owner of the sound, but all that appeared was nothing. 'What the hell...?' Y/N thought as she turned around the corner and bumped into someone. Y/N put her guard up, but when she looked up she saw Giyuu. "Oh, sorry!" Y/N bowed apologetically, but all he did was walk away in the other direction with no response, leaving her standing there. "Well that's weird," Y/N mumbled under her breath as she caught up to him.

"Sooo... have you spotted anything weird yet?" Y/N asked with large beaming smile plastered on her face. "No," he said with an icy cold tone of voice, causing Y/N to flinch. Y/N looked at him, looking at his emotionless face, but something was wrong. Y/N tripped him over and brought her blade right up to his neck.

"Who are you?" Y/N pushed her blade deeper, a shallow cut forming beneath it. Her e/c orbs staring daggers at his. "You found out already?" He chuckled and grabbed her blade, pushing it away as he stood up, "how?" He grew a large, unusual grin. "Your eyes. They're red instead of blue," Y/N stated aggressively.

The demon disguised as Giyuu chuckled and before Y/N could ready her sword, he dashed towards her and knocked the sword out of her hands. "...shit," Y/N mumbled as she jumped out of the way of the demon. She kicked the demon's side and it gets pushed away from the sword by a meter. Y/N grabs her sword and the demon tries to grab her. She cuts off the demon's arm and kicks it away.

The demon starts to repeatedly dodge Y/N's attacks as Y/N dodges the demon's attacks as well. "You're quite annoying," Y/N jumps out of the way and her sword cuts the demon's leg off clean. The demon falls over, "you got me," the demon chuckles and gives her a creepy grin. Y/N walks over to the demon and cuts off it's head. It's disguise melts away as it disintegrates.

"L/N-San!" Someone shouts from behind her and she turns around to see Giyuu. He looks down in front of her and sees himself, his expression turns into a confused one. "Ah, the demon disguised itself as you to try and trick me," Y/N laughed as she scratched the back of her head. Giyuu lets out a small smile as he signals for her to come over to him. "So, how many demons have you found already?" Y/N asks with a big smile on her face as they patrol the area. "Three," Giyuu replies, keeping his guard up incase of an ambush.

Thump! Thump! Thump!

They both looked behind them and saw three big demons running towards them. Y/N dashes towards them, "Tenth Form: Drilling Slashes - Moon Through Bamboo Leaves!" She shouts before slashing her sword, the demons get caught in her attack and get split into three clean pieces.

"CAW CAW! ALL DEMONS HAVE BEEN KILLED! RETURN HOME!!" The crow hovers above both of them and flies away soon after. Y/N lets out a sigh of relief as she sheathes her sword and begins walking back to her estate. Giyuu catches up and walks beside her, he seems to be looking out for any danger. "...Are you protecting me, Tomioka-San?" Y/N giggles, a mischievous grin showing up on her face. "No," his cheeks flush a light pink as he turns his head away from Y/N to hide his face. She laughs once more, "I'm just kidding!" Y/N states as she stifles back a laugh.

They arrive at Y/N's estate, "thank you, Tomioka-San!" Y/N bows as she walks into her estate and Giyuu walks over to his. After a few minutes, Giyuu arrives at his estate, he goes inside and changed out of his uniform. He flops onto his bed and falls asleep. Y/N did the same, but before she fell asleep, she wrote in her diary.

Today I had a mission with Tomioka-San, but I didn't see him most of the time so it just felt like I was on my own mission. Speaking of Tomioka-San, I was thinking of confessing to him sooner or later, but I'm sure that he'll reject because he probably loves Kocho-San. I don't really know what to do, I'll just wait for the right moment!

Y/N shut her diary closed and lied down on her bed and let her eyes flutter closed.
