Chapter 11 - Comfort

Y/N woke up on the floor, at the front gates of her estate. 'I fell asleep after I cried then, huh?' Y/N gave a small smile to herself as she stood up, dusting off her dirty clothes. Though, her smile didn't last long and faded away as she made her way to the pond.

Y/N sat down, looking at the sun's reflection on the calm water. She suddenly remembers the event that happened yesterday, then she was on the verge of tears again. "Y/N?" A voice came from behind Y/N, and she immediately knew who it was.

"Mitsuri," Y/N turned her head, looking straight up at the said girls face, Y/N's eyes bloodshot and her cheeks red. "Y/N? What's wrong?! What happened?!" Mitsuri rushed to her side, Y/N finally bursting into tears once again.

Mitsuri hugged Y/N, comforting her until Y/N calmed down. "I-It's about... Giyuu," Y/N said in between sobs. Mitsuri was about to say something, but stopped, still having Y/N in her soft embrace. "...What were you going to say, Mitsuri...?" Y/N asks, slightly scared. Mitsuri lets out a shaky sigh before saying,

"Tomioka-San and Kocho-Chan are together."

Y/N's stomach dropped, she was absolutely dumbfounded, her arms went limp and let go of Mitsuri. "You're kidding... right...?" Y/N asks, trying to hold back the tears that's threatening to pour out.

Mitsuri's eyes stare directly at yours, "...no." Mitsuri's eyes begin to water, seeing Y/N - her best friend - in this state was making her heart break. Y/N was shocked, never did she think that someone like Shinobu would get with Giyuu.

The tears didn't fall, Y/N was just too dumbfounded to even react. She's never had feelings this strong for a guy, this is what made him feel so special to her. Mitsuri pulls Y/N into another tight embrace, hoping Y/N wouldn't cry as hard as before.

"KANROJI MITSURI! MISSION IN XX VILLAGE! DEMONS HAVE BEEN LURKING IN THAT AREA! START HEADING OVER THERE IMMEDIATELY!" A crow flies above them, squeaking and shouting.

"I have to go now, Y/N... please, don't be too sad..." Mitsuri pulls away and stand up with a weak smile, walking towards the gates of the estate, pushing it open and walking out.

'Why do I feel this way?' Y/N asks herself, watching the sun go down. 'Its just a boy... it shouldn't have made me this sad,' Y/N stands up, 'it seems like I just can't accept it." She walks out of her estate and starts walking.

Y/N finally arrives at her destination,

The Butterfly Estate.

She sighs before pushing open the gates and shutting them behind her. Y/N walks into the estate, looking around. A voice comes from behind her.

"I knew you'd come."
