Secret Ninja Santa

I totally meant to post this on Christmas, I swear!

It was a few weeks before Christmas at the monastery, and the ninja started to put up their decorations.

They all sat/stood around the living room when Sensei Wu summoned them.

He walked in with an upside down hat in his hand.

"What's with the hat?" Alice nodded to the hat, going straight to the point.

Cole, who was sitting next to her, hit her arm.

"We are going to do a Secret Santa," Sensei Wu announced.

"This intrigues me," Zane said, a thoughtful look on his face.

"Take a piece of paper, write your name, then fold it up and place it back into the hat," Sensei Wu instructed, placing the hat on the table that was in the middle of the room.

The seven ninja took one small piece of paper each.

Kai took out the pen that sat within the hat. He wrote on the paper and passed it to Nya. He was the first of the ninja to put his name in the hat.

"There's already a folded paper in here," Kai stated in observation.

"That is correct. I will also be participating. The Secret Santa is a group activity," Sensei Wu nodded.

"This just got so much more interesting," Alice smiled, having taken the pen from Jay and wrote her name. She passed the pen to Cole, who was the last one.

After Cole placed his paper in the hat, Sensei Wu took the hat and mixed up the papers.

"Now, who would like to pick first?" he asked with a small smile.

Lloyd got up from the chair he sat in and walked towards the hat. He placed his hand inside the hat and swirled his hand around. His hand closed around a piece of paper and he pulled it out.

He looked thoughtful as he saw the name inside, and sat back down.

"Eh, why not?" Kai shrugged, standing up from the couch.

He put his hand in the hat, took a paper, and opened it.

"Eh heh, can I get a second one?" he asked.

"No," Sensei Wu spoke sharply.

Kai leaned over and whispered something into his ear.

"All right, then go ahead," Sensei Wu said.

Kai smiled, replaced the paper in his hand in the hat, and chose a new one.

He smiled in content when he opened it.

"What was that about, Kai?" Nya whispered when he sat back down.

"I picked up my own name," Kai replied.

Nya shook her head in exasperation as they turned and watched Cole.

Cole looked on with a smug look when he saw who he received.

Zane went after Cole, just walking on over from his standing spot.

Zane looked confused when he opened his paper, showing it to Sensei Wu.

Sensei Wu gestured towards the hat.

Zane placed the folded paper back inside the hat and chose a different one.

He showed a better expression when he read the paper.

Jay jumped up, from the floor for some reason, and bounced on his feet towards Sensei Wu.
